I could see this too. Plus driving up the competition and thus price for Lowry makes it harder for miami to sign him.

I might be wrong, but I got the numbers from this...

"If the Rockets slashed all non-guaranteed salary (other than for those in the 2014 Playoffs rotation), their total salary commitments would still be around $61.99 million"

Minus 1.3mill Garcia, 8.32 Asik, 8.32 lin, 1.5 Moti, and if we trade Cannan .816mill
Thats leaves us with ~41.66 Mill of cap space used.

With the projected Cap Space of 63.2mill, thats gives us ~22 mill.

I was under the impression we could get Pau for a 5-6 mill/yr contract and Marion with a 4-5 mill/yr contract. I might be wrong though.

Anyways...i need to stop day dreaming and get back to my day job!

    To my last post,
if you also ship out Covington, thats another 820K.
Pau and Marion would be big pieces on a contender...i think with that price and added value of playing for a well balanced contender, we could be in contention for that lineup.

I would say we would be arguably the most well balanced team in the nba.
    Youth with veterans
    Defense with offense
    starters and bench

offering a multitude of attacks we can use to throw to matchup (and mismatch) other teams.

Haha, you obviously didn't watch the Rockets when Lowry was here.

Can't wait 'till the LOF's are gone!!!

Lowry and it shouldn't even be a debate.

Me thinks you never take your eyes off Lin when you watch my team play.

    Lowry.

Beverley back to the bench (and soon enough, out of Houston like the guys before him--Rafer Alston, Aaron Brooks, Kyle Lowry, Goran Dragic, Jeremy Lin, Patrick Beverley).

LOF's are r****ded. The first thing people who deem them worth responding to have to remember is that they have no freaking idea about Rockets outside of our time with Lin and even then, that's debatable. They regularly think we held back the likes of Lowry and Dragic in their ignorance.

Nah, different situation. No question Lowry starts but Beverley could stick around for awhile. He defends well, doesn't have any obvious flaws and has focused on guarding combo and two guards.

Getting Lowry instead of Melo or Love would be a let down but would also greatly improve the Rockets and allow Beverley to play a Nate McMillan role.

Ya-- Blind. As in blindly following a player that wouldn't start on about 90% of teams in the league? Don't let the door hit ya where the good lord split ya.

Hopefully Lin goes to the Bucks or Magic. Then you will get to see "glaring" issues up close and personal.

If you hate the Rockets so much, please stop torturing yourself and quit following them. I think you'd fit in very well as a Lakers fan.

    I'd love to get Lowry.

Dude brings intensity and besides Bev, this team lacks that sometimes.

    JLFan.

After reading the username, the post itself doesn't surprise, although if you read too many such posts in the same day, your head can explode like Oberyn Martell's.

Lowry and Bev would be hell on opposing PG's...that would be fun.

Plus my son's Lowry jersey would be relevant again :)

Not sure about trading Bev. The guy probably keeps more value with Houston in that role than pretty much any other team would (probably in the same role as most teams wouldn't have him starting anyways). He only would have one more guaranteed year on his deal, but you soak up that year, and let the future hold what it holds.

Bev coming off the bench gives him even more energy defensively, and gives the Rockets a nice 2 PG lineup they can use as well (since both Lowry & Bev can defend).

I'm telling you guys.....if we get Lowry, we are going to throw the kitchen sink at Minnesota for Love. Everything outside of Lowry/Harden/Parsons/Howard would be available, which is more than you would think:

    Lin
    TJones
    DMo
    Canaan
    Covington
    NOP 2015 #1
    Rockets 2015 #1
    Rights to Capela
Rights to Sergio Llull (national teammate of Rubio)
    Rights to Papanikolaou
    Rights to Gentile

Or we can pair Bev and Lowry together in situations. That'll spare Harden some minutes. Talk about perimeter defense with those two...

You left Beverley and Daniels off this list.
