Good game Germany! The future is only looking bright for Algerian football. Hopefully the Algerians that decide to play for France can finally see that we can field a good team

The low pressure system has stalled out, so light rain expected through tomorrow throughout the metro area. Slight chance of thunderstorms.

Well, it's safe to say that we have to improve dramatically against France. Not taking anything away from Algeria, they've done a good job yesterday, but if you want to win the World Cup, you have to play better than that. At least the team gets what it deserves from the German press, nobody here is satisfied with the way they played.
The biggest problem is that we have too many players playing out of position. Mustafi is not a right back. It's mind-boggling that we have one of the best right backs in the world, yet stubborn Löw will not play him there anymore.
Höwedes is not a left back. I don't even blame Mustafi or Höwedes for their bad performances, what are they supposed to do? They're playing a position they have almost never played before. And don't even let me get started with the midfield...
There have to changes to our lineup against France, no doubt.

Wow another German, So we have already 3 germans (that i know of), 1 Belgian, and 2 Dutchmen (Ace and me, but I think there are more isn't the OP also Dutch).

Germany must play better, the speed of their defense is really troubling.
I am rooting for the following
    semi finals:
    German-Colombia
    Netherlands - Beglium
    Final
    Germany-Netherlands payback for 1974

Netherlands could be in the Semis... but what about Belgium?

Defeating Messi and the Gauchos will be the game of their lifetime.
I think they might be ready in four years or are they now?

Europe is a massive market and this way FIFA can say that everyone at least has a chance to watch live. If the games were much later all of Europe would either have to watch in the middle of the night or record and wait until the next day. Even with the schedule there have been games that have started too late for me to bother attempting live.

And I still think Germany is overrated after that horrible display by Ronaldo, Pepe and the Portual Selecao.

They are very good but I would place them at third or fourth place among the Top 4.

We would be the top team if Löw used the right formation and each guy at his best position.

The defense should be great with Durm/Großkreutz-Hummels-Boateng-Lahm, but he completely destroyed it with the four CBs approach.

Up front, start Schürrle and give Klose meaningful minutes.

Likely the worst first seed against a mediocre second seed.

What is his theory? I can't imagine any strategic scenario that would call for this unless you're playing a team that's putting 3 forwards up top who all play with their back to goal. If he does this against France, they won't likely miss the chances that Algeria did and will certainly do better in open space.

Statistically Germany faced off 2 African teams (Ghana, Algeria), 1 North American (US) and 1 European (Portugal) yet they never had to play a South American team.

It is going to be interesting
