Kyle Lowry averaged 13/6 in 36 mpg before the Raptors traded away Rudy Gay and averaged 12/6 the year before(10/7 with Gay).

Don't know what he can put up next to Harden and Dwight, but fans here will be b****ing about his 12+ million a year contract.

Kyle Lowry wouldn't be donning the Rockets red to score points.

He's a bulldog. He's aggressive. He has clutch all over his game - not just in scoring.

He will instantly reinsert himself as fans' favourite Rocket.

The points he scores will be a nice bonus.

ahahaa the "points" he scores... like the Rockets need better pg scoring and points. Its like you fans are blind, you have a glaring enormous issue at the PF position, backup center, depth, complain about Lins contract and are going to get another pg thatll stand in tje corner, give sgs like Ariza 50ppg, pfs like LMA and Griffin will score even MoRE now with Asik gone, and a bench thats D League or worse.
Rockets cant rebound, got no depth, got no money, and want a useless pg in McHales system. Meanwhile in Miami, they gutted their superstars, restructing their team to provide more depth on their big 3, they know what they need to win a ring.

He's really good at multiple facets of the game defense/rebounding/passing the scoring would be a *bonus* was his point. We're not chasing him because of his impact on our scoring output.(although he would help there too)

Why? Lowry represents a big step forward. Did you see our point guard play last year?

Has there been any update on Lowry's knee injury since the playoffs? I haven't heard anything since they lost.

Im starting to get on the bringing over Lowry over a superstar bandwagon..

Reason being it means we can add depth and build a balanced attack offensively and defensively.

Signing Lowry would max take ~4yr, 55 mill. With 22 mill available in cap room that would still leave us with 8.25 mill. We could possibly bring in guys like Marion and Gasol
I would think second tier guys like Avery Bradley and Deng would require more than that, only way possible would be if we can get Lowry at a cheaper price.

With the MLE we could bring in Hawes. solidifying our backup C
And with the Vet min we could bring in Sefalosha.

Then we match Parsons and daniels.

    Lowry/Bev/cannan
    Harden/sefalosha/Daniels/johnson
    Parsons/Marion
    Gasol/Jones
    Howard/Hawes

The big difference in this squad is the defense available in the bench. We would have quality depth Offensively and defensively.
I think this beats putting in a guy like Melo and then surrounding the big 3 with scrubs, as we saw in the finals..a balanced attack is arguably better than a building a big 3.

When we trade Lin, we will not have 22mil. I think Bima said our salary would be 17,34.

Unless that third superstar is Kevin Love, I agree with this approach. The Rockets are deficient at 2 positions(PG and PF) and at the defensive end. Melo doesn't address any of those needs. All he does is add scoring to a team that was 0.1 points away from the best scoring average in the league last season. And the offensive production he'd bring would overlap with Harden's more than it would compliment it.

Sign Kyle Lowry. Spend the rest of the leftover caproom(I'm assuming Lin is gone if Lowry is here) on a PF. And fill out the rest of the roster with free agents or minor trades. That would make one helluva good team going into next season. Granted, we'll still need a real head coach, but we can always deal with that later.

If it could play out JUST like that....I would jump on it now. I said about a month ago on here that Sefalosha would be a great fit on this team for his defense alone, but he also brings experience starting for a team we've been chasing for 5 years. I would love that team on paper....hurry up and call Morey and tell him your idea lolol Nice post

Perhaps I'm not following, but if we are left with 8.5 mil in cap room after signing Lowry, how can we resign Parsons (who would probably receive offers around 10 mil) AND sign guys like Marion and Gasol?

Other than that, it does makes more sense to build an all-around balanced roster rather than bring a third superstar and have the "big three" surrounded with scrubs.

Although that looks like a really good and really deep team, i would still try to go melo or love ....iam probably from the few ppl if any who would choose carmelo over anyone but lebron (would rather sign melo then lose assets for love)

No1 in the nba can guard carmelo , none of the names goes to the line half the time carmelo does, no1 has a better 3pt shooting percentage then melo, while all these things are on the offensive side of the ball its all things we base our offense on....defensively...unlike many others I've seen melo D up, and iam almost sure his D would get better during the playoffs , he does better vs bigger bodys then the quick sfs and thats who hell see most of the time playing the 4.....really exciting times, no matter what happens morey is still a winner in my eyes
