The 8 Best Lines From Ginsburg's Dissent on the Hobby Lobby Contraception Decision As much as Robert's likes to try for the narrow ruling, these tiny holes will be poked and prodded until they are gaping wounds.
I'm tired of people posting articles from left-leaning sites only. Does anyone on here even attempt to post neutral material?
Umm, are you serious? Those are direct quotes from the dissent itself. That's about as neutral and direct of a source as you can get. I am tired of people with low reading comprehension who seem to shrug off things due to their own biases. Since you seem to be disregarding direct quotes because they come from a liberal news source here is a link to the dissent. http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/13pdf/13-354_olp1.pdf
I don't know what either of those are but I did live in the rural Midwest for eight years. Just about any restaurant that wasn't a chain and sold whole pies also had some kinds of quaint little Raggedy-Ann or scarecrow dolls and doilies around. Also kids always need costumes for plays or Halloween and in that part of the country arts & crafts are like yoga and spin class anywhere else, it's kind of what the womenfolk do to fit in.
Religiously they also find pre-marital sex offensive, but I guess that doesn't fit your delightful racial narrative.
Where is your evidence that their views are different? Or is it another one of those things you're just making up on the fly? And where is the evidence that the illegal population (which has remained flat or declined the last several years) is "the fastest growing group in the country"?
That's BS and puts the lie to the right's claim basing decisions on the idea of original intent. The original intent, borne out be a slew of congressional documents and speeches, had nothing to do with corporations as persons and much more to providing the ability of Native Americans to worship as they please without drug-sniffing dogs hanging around the kiva. And ironically, it was passed because Scalia pushed through a decision that inhibited religious expression.

You should. If any of your examples are brought to court, this case cannot be the precedent they argue based on - they'll have to argue some other rationale. The only relevance to any of those examples in this case is closing down one line of argument (that the government has no right to regulate). There's no slippery slope here - this case doesn't open any new doors that weren't already available for people to argue. I think the best way to describe the result is that it's mostly irrelevant to other cases - it didn't shut down your examples, but it also didn't open a new legal rationale for them to win in court. The legal rationale here simply isn't applicable to any of those examples.
How many times do you want to lose the gun control fight? Your president couldn't pass A SINGLE LAW after a psycho blasted a bunch of 6 year olds with an evil black rifle. The gun control lobby is embarrassingly pathetic.
Unfortunately, white Democrats including on this board have been predicting decades-long majorities by playing that stupid "demographics is destiny" card over and over again, as if no Hispanics anywhere like tax cuts or strong national defense.
I know - and all its helped them do is win the last 2 presidential elections helped by huge quantities of minority votes and likely the next 2 as well. What a bunch of stupids!
Fastest growing group in the country is young hispanics. Without them the under 18 numbers in the us would have gone down. First and second generation immigrants won't have the same beliefs hispanics with native born parents. Abortions were just recently decriminalized in mexico.
