The only thing I knew about Yahoo! Screen prior to this was that they had the web series "Burning Love" which is very funny and full of many recognizable comedians and comedic actors.
I knew someone would pick it up, the show was too good. I was hoping it'd be Hulu or Netflix though. Ah well, Chromecast 4eva.
McHale has a whole other career elsewhere and Jeong, Pudi and that other lady probably can't headline anything on their own; but hopefully Brie and Jacobs are still reading movie and pilot scripts. I guess they're all making between $75,000 - 100,000 per ep at this point, but I don't think the latter two want to squander their name recognition at the height of their looks on the same project.
Are you talking about Yvette Nicole Brown? YNB is amazing - really surprised you didn't even know her name.
Jacobs got top billing the first season and Brie's been on Mad Men for seven years and has Craig Ferguson .gifs of her all over the place, I've never seen the Dean or the black lady in anything else that I remember, I think she was part of an ensemble in some commercials for a food or cleaning product.
The Dean, Jim Rash, won an Oscar for co-writing the screenplay for "The Descendants". He also co-wrote "The Way Way Back" and hosts "The Writers Room" on the Sundance channel.
FYI. Season 6 starts today on Yahoo Screen. https://screen.yahoo.com/community/ No subscription required. First 2 episodes already up. Unlike Netflix where they release the season all at once, new episodes will be released every Tuesday.
I'll probably watch regardless, but I'll give it a few more episodes to get better. They've kind of had to reboot again. And they kind of brought up the question themselves in the first episode of how can the show still be good when the basic premise of the show has changed (they're not students anymore) and 3 of the original group members are gone?
