Maybe the Marlins will be willing to consider a Stanton deal including last year's 1.1 instead?

Guys. We're forgetting the most important part here. The Marlins wanted Matt Dominguez back.

I think Ken Rosenthal is taking that title with his recent speculation on the Aiken failed physical.

Yep. Luhnow should have offered them the deed to Carlos Lee's ranch.

Man I would absolutely love to see the Rockets or Texans front office discourse leaked. That would be captivating reading.

I expect the Rockets front office discussions would be like reading Dostoevsky. Yeah, there are good parts, but there are also times where you'll spend 30 minutes reading about Justin Dentmon.

The Astros come off surprisingly well (with the exception of allowing this to be leaked in the first place) considering this was all stuff no one was ever meant to see.

I imagine many teams would not come out looking as favorable.

It would've had to been only if Stanton was willing to sign (and the Astros were willing to offer) a very large extension.

Maybe they could have signed a deal before the season and gotten a freindly deal because he was coming off a down season.

But at this point Stanton is putting up Miguel Cabrera numbers, with good defense. He's probably gonna command 250-300 million if he comes anywhere close to maintaining these numbers. I'm pretty sure that is too rich for Crain's blood.

If I am a GM on another team I am very unhappy with the Astros. I don't want my discussions kept in writing and I certainly do not want them hacked and leaked. Now, a number of GM's are going to be doing damage control.

Every player knows that he can be dealt, but they still don't want to hear they were almost moved.

Nothing positive comes out of this leak for the Astros.

I am sure note taking is standard procedure on every club. As is mention of nearly every name you have in possible scenarios.

But it becoming public is certainly where the Astros have deviated from the norm, in a big way.

I agree with you, Nook. This is just another embarrassment for an overall embarrassing organization.

I wonder what Jeff is going to do if he finds out who did this.

I guess we can look for a sudden vacancy in the front office

    Biggest 2 things were:

    1. We almost got something for Harrell (which in his defense, was coming off an okay year but damn is hindsight 20/20)

    2. MIA wanted Dominguez back (that's got to feel so good as a GM)

You can't blame them for taking notes. You need to keep track of that kind of information somehow. Letting your system get hacked is the problem.

wow, I wonder if a former employee leaked that or they were just straight up hacked.

Time to change those passwords for sure.

According to Jeff, it was an outside job. We'll see.
