Great post. Most people on here don't see things this way. Players have to carefull of what they say to the media.

Good point. With Dwight, we had the cap space and didn't really have to worry about losing teammates or offending them.

It's a good point, but it's not really true with Rose. I'm pretty sure the last time around they had cap space and he still refused to recruit. I think the very next offseason he did the same.

I think his issue is more ego than anything, but who knows. I don't think it's that big of a deal either way.

Well to be fair, there are reports of Rose's struggles with social anxiety a la Ricky Williams. He's apparently very uncomfortable being open with anyone outside of his inner circle.

With a torn meniscus it's not always 'weak'. Much depends on the tear, how big it is, where it is, if it's able to be trimmed or fixed or if it's in a tough place to get to, in which case they just leave it. I've had multiple knee surgeries, including meniscus tears in both knees as well as ACL tears in both. Small tears they can sew or trim, others you just have to deal with. I currently have a meniscus tear that can't be fixed since it is deep within the knee. And I have a decent amount of pain daily from the injury. I haven't read anything detailing Rose's injury, but he was injured right before Thanksgiving last year and didn't make it back, so I suspect it may not be one of those 'weak' type tears.

I don't think this is a good deal. Getting Melo should be the #3 option. Lebron and LOVE should be top priority. Having Melo playing out of position at the 4th...i don't know if that's going to work. We're always undersize in will get outrebound again. If you play him the 3..then Parson doesn't get any minutes. It just doesn't fit this team needed. LOVE and Lebron will be much better. Plus who's going to be our backup Center or PF?? We don't have Asik anymore. Getting LOVE will solve some of that problem, not Melo.

Ramona and Simmons on LeBron/Carmelo on the BS report:

BS: Clearly they're all talking and no chance he leaves.

RS: 1% honestly. I thought the only chance he left is with 1) Clippers really got aggressive doing a sign and trade 2) If there was a scenario where both could play together and was a market they wanted to be in. Neither are playing for $16 million each. All of this is these guys having leverage. I think both go back to their teams. Fun to cover but it was much ado about nothing. He's building a new loft in Tribeca. LaLa and their kid(s) love it there. He doesn't want to leave. He's liked the moves Phil has made. And it's so much more money. The only place he'd move to is Chicago because the relationship with Thibodeau. He can leave to go to Chicago and sell that. People criticized me for not playing defense, not making others better. If you go to Chicago, that's Rose's team. You can sell that. You can't sell any other teams out there. I guess Houston but why go to Houston when you can go to Chicago? That's a better team. I think he wants to be in New York. Same with LeBron. Can he go to a third team, when Riley is doing whatever he wants?

BS: Broussard said LeBron is worried about how he'd fit with the Clippers and I had that same thought. Even though Chris is a terrific point guard, he's difficult to play with at end of games. He dominates the ball. I don't think LeBron wants to be in a situation where he's watching someone else handling the offense. I think the real story and this point can't be made enough, had the Lakers not given Kobe his contract, they had a real chance for LeBron and Carmelo I think.

    ...

BS: Houston is most desperate. Their salary cap window closing. Parsons will be paid. Howard and Harden make high $30's. Lin is on the book for $8. They have one chance here and once this summer goes by and Parsons' contract locks in, this is it. He has to get someone. I don't know who that is.

Uhhh......one team won 54 games in the most difficult division in all of sports. The other won 48 games in the easiest conference in all of sports.

I'll let you figure out which is which. National media drives me crazy.

And everyone knew this! Giving Kobe that extension makes no sense, none, none, none, none, not unless ownership was looking for an excuse to gut payroll and rebuild with youth.

Media still holding on to Rose being a superstar. Good luck with that.

Indeed. We all remember Asik's continued reaction to the Rockets signing Howard. I'm sure a part of that comes from the fact that Harden and Parsons were actively pursuing him.

I like with what Im reading today.

    - Lebron not renouncing to a max contract this time, by ESPN. It would difficult Lowry's signing for Miami.

    - Carmelo apparently between New York and Chicago. Rockets a long shot.

Things pointing more to a Kyle's comeback to the H.

So I read elsewhere that Taj Gibson and Noah will be present at the Bulls-Melo meeting. Could someone please explain to me how it is possible to keep Taj and obtain Melo, especially now that they took on A. Randolph's contract?
