Players involved include Jason Castro, Jon Singleton, Jonathan Villar, Carlos Corporan

Royals asked about Castro and Singleton and the Astros wanted Christian Binford and Julio Pinto. Royals countered with Cesar Ogando and Kenny Diekroeger.

Luhnow even asked for Lucas Giolito for Lucas freaking Harrell!

On Bud Norris: a package from the Red Sox centered around Matt Barnes and Henry Owens was being kicked around. No Xander Bogaerts, Garin Cecchini, Allen Webster, or Jackie Bradley.
-As was Bud to the Pirates for Luis Heredia and a compenstation pick (which Jeff Luhnow turned down). He wanted Tyler Glasnow as the centerpiece. -Offered to the Giants for Clayton Blackburn, Keury Mella, and Adalberto Mejia. Giants rejected that.

Between this and the "Aiken failed his physical" speculation, the Astros must be getting some sort of bad karma from the media in response to the good press of the SI article.

Damn... rejected that deal for Stanton?

Correa has a chance to be really good, but damn between this and then picking him over Buxton -- Luhnow better hope he pans out.

Personally, and this is obviously based on projections for Correa and Springer, I'm glad they rejected the offer of Stanton.

That Royals offer for Castro and Singleton is pure hilarity.

Stanton believes he's headed to the Yankees as soon as he's a FA. I am very happy we didn't trade our future for two years of Stanton.

How good has Buxton looked this year? How many games has he played this season?

Buxton is a fine prospect but there is not a clear gap between Correa and Buxton.

$$$ is why it didn't happen. If they asked for Springer+Folty, I think that deal would be done.

Years ago the Braves offered an old Dale Murphy to the Astros for:

    Craig Biggio
    Ken Caminiti
    Cameron Drew

At the time, Drew may have been the biggest deal breaker.

Damn, I wish the Pitt GM was more like Kahn. If they could have gotten Polanco for Norris that would have been a historic for the franchise.

Of course, Buxton isn't a given and there's still a chance Correa could be better than Buxton when they both come up so you have a point there.

I wonder if this leak will cause issues for the front office moving forward.

    Found that interesting as well.

I wonder if this is a designed leak by the Astros... Part of the decision science strategy to make teams think they're incompetent at password protection, when really they're using the media to expose everybody else's incompetent GM's.
