This would have described him perfectly, 8 years ago. He's much less of a diver now. The calls he got today, as *annoying* as they seem, were still legit.
He was diving a lot in the second half today. He has a history so it should not come as a surprise either.
Every team has players that dive. Some more than others. Some of the great ones are known for diving (Suarez, Ronaldo, Robben...) It is only natural that the dive/player will be scrutinized even more when it is perceived to change the outcome of the game. It should have been Robben instead of Pele teaming up with Phelps for the Subway commercials.
thats not the point, every team dives, so its ok, if everyone is doing it? if a player flops against the rockets, you dont get angry, because the rockets do it too??

My point is, quit the fauxrage. Yes, flopping sucks. My post was pointed at those that make it a Robben only thing. You lost because Marquez put himself in a position that forced the ref to make a call. There was clear contact. Yes he embellished...but Marquez took a gamble and lost. If the refs aren't going to give cards for obvious diving, it's going to continue. They're clearly not as there hasn't been one in the entire tourney and there have been some of the worst dives I've ever seen. The refs do right in not calling the foul...but they need to give card and they need to do it early in the game to set a precedence.
Not really. Silver goal as it stands is fine and it leads to penalty shootout either way most of the time.
