Greece was the "other team" that was rewarded with a penalty in the 91st

 

Uh ok….so I guess you just ignore the penalty that wasn't called on Mexico in the 1st half and say "Good Job Good effort" refs? Always going to be bad calls, missed calls etc, it's part of sport. If Mexico wants to blame someone for the loss, blame Hererra for taking Gio off the field after he scored and parking the bus allowing the Dutch to coast on the defensive end. Mexico isn't good enough to park the bus against a top5 team. They have to play counter attacking soccer. They stopped doing that when they scored.

 

Felt bad for Mexico. Generally rooting for teams from the Americas.

 

Don't know about 100% flopping. Marquez fouled him and Robben went down in an exaggerated fashion. He could have had a penalty two other times - the one where he skipped past the defender (he could have taken the foul, easily) and then the blatant one in the first half. As a maths equation, we should have had a penalty. I do agree the exaggeration is annoying, but Marquez was playing with fire there as well. Robben took advantage of the situation, but he WAS fouled. So in my opinion, NOT a full flop.

one penalty that didnt called in the 1st half, and one that called that wasnt penalty, so it evens out.

So stupid and wrong. So mexico should have that happen to them because the refs missed and earlier call?

Yeah that makes total sense.

 

Stupid tackle to attempt inside the box with the ref watching. He was playing with fire the whole game, there was contact, and robben did embellish.

However you don't make that tackle in the first place and force the ref to make a decision.

 

Well everyone else seems to disagree with me. I just don't see flopping as how to right a wrong.

 

To the Mexican fans here by the way - I feel really bad about how that went down for you. I was spending the last 20 minutes preparing myself for the loss, so to get it snatched away from you like that at the very end... man, football can be rough. The keeper is insanely good.

 

Probably would have given Robben a card or so earlier for flopping.

 

Arjen is a smart guy. He probably knew that the ref must have found out at half time that he missed that penalty call. Afterwards, he kept going for another one...putting more and more pressure on the ref to finally call one.

To be exactly fair.... one penalty earlier and a yellow card for him as well.

 

I'm never going to doubt you again.

 

The penalty miss in the first half was a 50/50 call, the one at the end was a no call.
