I'd rather just keep Harden if we can convince Lebron to come.

Some of these trades don't even work with force trades turned on NBA2K

So I did some math and, if we traded Lin and Motiejunas. Cut Powell and Casspi. Let Hamilton expire and Garcia opt out. We could sign one Lebron, Anthony or bosh ...

With this exact roster, one of Lebron, Anthony or Bosh could sign for 76 million over 4 years.

    Beverley/Canaan/Johnson
    Harden/Daniels
    Parsons/Gentile
    (Star Player)/Jones/Covington
    Howard/Capela

Or if they wanted to make some extra money, at the expense of trading Jones, cutting Covington and not signing rookie Clint Capela this year, they could sign with this exact team for about 4 years 85 million.

    Beverley/Canaan/Johnson
    Harden/Daniels
    Parsons/Gentile/(vet min)
    (Star Player)/(vet min)
    Howard/(vet min)

I think i did the math right

My most recent attempt to get Kevin Love:

    Trade #1

Houston Out: Asik TPE ($8.3 million)
    Houston In: Shved, Barea

    Trade #2

Houston Out: Lin, TJones, Canaan, Casspi, Rights to Capella, NOP 2015 #1, Rockets 2015 #1, Rockets 2017 #1, 2015 NYK 2nd Round pick, 2015 Portland 2nd Round pick, $1.5 million cash
Houston In: Kevin Love, Ronny Turiaf

Orlando In: Jeremy Lin, 2015 NYK 2nd Round pick, 2015 Portland 2nd Round pick, $1.5 million cash
Orlando Out: Jameer Nelson (only $2 million guaranteed)

Minnesota In: Jameer Nelson, TJones, Canaan, Casspi, Rights to Capella, NOP 2015#1, HOU 2015 #1, HOU 2017 #1
Minnesota Out: Kevin Love, Ronny Turiaf

It's easy to see why Houston and Orlando do this deal.

    The benefits for Minnesota are:

    1) By getting rid of Love, Turiaf, Barea, and Shved, waiving Jameer Nelson ($2 million guaranteed), waiving Casspi ($0 guaranteed) and taking back only TJones and Canaan, Minnesota will be $16.7 million under the cap. This sets them up to make a lucrative offer to Pau Gasol, who supposedly they have been after for some time. Havings Pau and Rubio on the roster gives them a good chance at Marc Gasol in 2015.

    2) TJones is a somewhat proven commodity that adds athleticism to their front line.

    3) Canaan is a nice prospect on a cheap contract.

    4) 4 1st round picks, including Capella

I'll admit, this is the first time I've really thought we may have the best package for Kevin Love (or at least one of the best). And better yet, we keep Parsons, the rights to Papanikolaou, Llull, and Gentile.

    Beverley / Barea / Shved
    Harden / Daniels
    Parsons / Papanikolaou
    Love / DMo
    Howard / Turiaf

Yeah. Forgot to include him. To some degree, he is what makes Canaan expendable.

I'd add that this trade also doesn't put a heavy burden on us in 2015. Turiaf, Shved, and Barea all expire next year. We can turn around and offer Sergio Llull the full non-taxpayer MLE.

I think this is good for the NO 2015 1st we now own... will make it harder for NO to jump them for a playoff spot next year.

I see we're seeing things somewhat alike. But we can help Minny shed a lot more salary than that. And we can give the TWolves enough assets that they can send some of those assets out with Chase to move Chase off the books as well.

    Here's one iteration from me:

    BEFORE July 1

    Houston outgoing:
Asik (to New Orleans) and DMo (to Minny or possibly to Philly or another team as an enticement trade for Lin)

    Houston In:
    Kevin Love

    Minny out:
    Kevin Love

    Minny in:
    DMo/Asik draft pick

    THEN:

    After the Moratorium

    Houston out:
Lin/Jones/Casspi/Powell/Capella (signed to 120% of rookie scale)/one of the second rounders signed to a minimum salary deal/2 future first rounders (16/18)

    Houston In
    Martin/Barea/Mbah A Moute/Shved

Now....if Minny took this trade as just a 2-team deal taking in all these players, here's what it would look like on their end:

    Minny out:
Kevin Martin, JJ Barea, Mbah A Moute, Shved

    Minny In:
    Lin/DMo/Jones/Capella/one of Gentile-Johnson and

Minnesota's salary and cap space after this trade and subsequently cutting Powell and Casspi: $48,101,859 salary for 14 players (Hummel included) with $15 million of projected cap space (enough to sign Pau and probably Blake as well)

    So.....Minnesota could have David Lee/Klay Thompson/Blake/possibly a couple 2nd rounders

    or

....Minnesota could have Lin/DMo/Jones/Johnson/Capella/the Asik pick/another first rounder or two/Blake/.........and Pau.

Now which of those deals would you take if you were Flip????

Not to mention you could take one or two of these assets and then flip Chase away for an expiring to get rid of his salary. And you could probably flip Lin with a couple more assets for a nice starting player on a value deal....say Thad Young, or Ilyasova or Jeff Green. Or perhaps Denver would take Lin and Capella or Lin and Zach Lavine or Kevin Martin and Zach Lavine for Afflalo to Minnesota??

I agree on the basics, but am a little wary of splitting the trade up into 2 different "years". In a simultaneous trade, there would be a degree of coverage for both Houston and Minnesota. There wouldn't be if you split up the trades.

I think this exercise cemented my view that Golden State is out. I still think Chicago and Boston are threats, but we can definitely make a competitive offer.

If Melo goes to Chicago, then it's down to Boston and us. Both team can clear cap room for Minnesota. Our picks are a wash now with the NOP pick in hand. I think this may come down to an "eye of the beholder" type deal. They have Smart, Young, Olynk, and Sullinger....we have TJones, DMo, Capella, Canaan, and Daniels.

It's really, really close.....close enough that Love's preference will probably be the deciding factor.

    Just thought of this today
We know the Miami guys and Kevin love are definitely not ending up here.
    Melo is very unlikely.
Can we do a sign and trade for bledsoe offering Phoenix NO's pick and Lin or something? It would have to be for a big enough contract that Phoenix wouldn't wanna match obviously but they would gladly take that pick

Tyler Ennis (Suns), Delfino (Bucks), Henson (Bucks) to Houston
    Jeremy Lin (Rockets) to Milwaukee
    Terrence Jones (Rockets) to Phoenix

if we should add draft pick or right for euro-player to someone, I would
    sign Carmelo Anthony

    Beverley/Ennis
    Harden/Delfino
    Parsons/Casspi/Covington
    Carmelo/Henson
    Howard/Donuts

The pick is unlikely to be a high lottery one, and Bledsoe fits in very nicely with Dragic. The Suns don't need Lin.

    A NO/Min/Hou 3way is looking doable.
