    I really like this video

When they ask people older than 16 what it means to do something "Like a Girl" it is completely different than when they ask 10-12 yr old girls what that phrase means.

btw: the phrase shouldn't be "like a girl" it should be, What is it like to do sports with boobs. All the "like a girl" examples are because they have boobs, and it must hurt or at least change your dynamics in throwing things and running. imso, that's the difference. haha.

Is it really inappropriate to acknowledge the distinct difference in physical ability between men and women?
You don't see any women in the NBA and its not because of sexism.

Hilariously enough Brittney Griner was probably the closest to ever playing in the NBA especially with Mark Cuban hinting at having her audition.

Not sure if you get the video. That's not what it is saying.

This video is talking about what 10-12 yr old girls think about a cultural phrase vs the phrase itself. I think it is fascinating.

    cultural linguistics at its finest.

I get that, but it also seemed like whoever created the video (and a lot of people reacting to the video) is trying to spurn a social movement to tabooify the use of "like a girl" and encourage more PC.

Funnily enough, I've never actually heard anyone ever use that insult outside of elementary. Now its just "you [x] like a b****."

Its just like the word r****d. Yes, you are using it to insult your friends, but at the same time you are insulting the people that are actually r****ded.
That's the argument anyway. Don't really know what spurred it. Not like there is some huge sexism crisis in this country.

on the contrary, the culmination of the entire video is to take back and empower the phrase and boldly use it to mean something positive.

We now live in a culture where everyone is looking for a way to describe themselves as a victim of something. They can't wait to tell you their sob story, the hurdles they've overcome, the hardship, the insurmountable odds....and they are always, always, a bunch of middle to upper class w*nkers who wouldn't know hardship if it walked up to them and punched them in the face!

Oh, and sorry to all the w*nkers out there! You have feelings too....

You don't call r****ded people r****ds. It's bad taste. You call your friends r****ds when they're acting r****ded.

The stigma that females obtain regarding athleticism after puberty is mirrored by that which men receive about meaningful emotional expression, empathy, communication, cleanliness, etc. Both sets are oversimplifications but inescapable because the closest and most frequent relationship men and women engage in demand complementary and distinctive roles. Also, aesthetic presentation is symbolic of certain attributes and qualities, and to the drastic extent that genders strive for different sartorial and physical models, they're deliberately distinguishing themselves from each other and implicitly embracing the resulting gender roles and stereotypes.

I'm telling you...it's all about the boobs. Girls have to change their athletic dynamics vs boys, because of boobs. Hence why all Olympics gymnists have no boobs.,,,nor sprinters.

When is the last time a D-cup won a gold medal? Pls post pictures.
