No point in responding to him when he calls McHale one of the 10 worst coaches in history.

    or...

Job 3: Where you can wait it out for a few more weeks/months and get that top job where you are the top dog and you have no supervisor per se. Also a job where you do not have to suffer any ego or prestige values from working under a supervisor who you know is pretty much garbage and you know you are better than that person in that job.

Imagine working for a boss that you do not respect or you truly know has zero value to offer. Anything you do behind the scenes to garner any kind of success will be attributed to the boss for the most part.

Could we make Hollins associate head coach? If so, what is the difference between assistant coach and associate head coach?

Also Byron Scott is considered frontrunner for job in LA according to Romano Shelburne of ESPN.

Yeah, people would attribute defensive improvements to Kevin Mchale....

Pay Hollins head coach money. Fire Mchale mid season if we don't perform up to standards and Hollins becomes head coach. If we advance far Hollins will get lots of credit and a stronger resume for openings next season. Everyone wins.

Or wait a few weeks/months get passed over by those available jobs and risk being labelled (out of the game too long) and be lucky to get another job.

So he goes option b, Mchale doesn't get fired. Hollins is view as a highly positive contributer to Houston and a sought after coaching option.

According the ramona shelburne of Espn, hollins are still in contention for the job even though Scott is the favorite after three interviews with the Lakers.
She also said Houston had conversation with Hollins about associate head coaching position. So I guess we have to wait until the lakers hire their coach before Hollins give us an answer.

If we get Hollins, I'm at least a little more positive about our future and for 70% makes me hate the McHale staying one more year less, if he's shown the door making Hollins HC the year after that is!

I'm starting to think the Lakers are screwing with us by keeping Hollins optimistic about his possibility of his chances to be their hc. When in actuality they'll just string him along long enough to hamper our free agent recruiting process

Poor Byron Scott. He's been dreaming of the Lakers job ever since Phil Jackson was getting ready to retire and he kept getting passed over or was stuck in some other lame job and couldn't leave.

He finally gets a shot to coach the Lakers and it's going to be a junky lottery team that will fire him quickly. :(

For a guy who is really respected around the league, he has had a bad run of luck picking jobs ever since he got run out of New Jersey.

If we sign Lebron and hire Hollins the first move after that should be to fire Mchale and have him as a consultant.

Who knows but Alvin Gentry took the associate head coach position for the Golden State Warriors under Kerr.

Id assume that Hollins wants LA's job, and LA will use a, hey you pick your coach as a bargaining chip for FA.

Damn Lakers, make a decision! Hollins would be perfect next to McHale.

Hopefully they hire Karl. If we get Hollins to fall in our hands, man...
