In the air to me screams up in the air or unsettled. If your interpretation is right I'd be ecstatic and furious at Daryl for not pulling the trigger. Doc talks about patience. Waiting for the stars and striking out and getting Love is patience rather than pulling the trigger now. Doc seems to mean patience as in maybe we aren't first yet but as teams are settled (Chicago will get CA and then be out of the hunt for Love) we may have a strong offer. I still can't see us topping GSW offer if the Wolves want talent now. Klay Thompson is better than anything we can offer now.

A lot of Doc's tweets have left me puzzled but this one seems pretty straight forward. Basically saying we're not getting Melo/Lebron and Love is a realistic shot for the Rockets if we don't screw it up. I'd be happy with Love but am no longer buying any hype.

Amazing. Even with Howard and Harden nobody wants to come here.

    WTF man.

I could be wrong but I think that NO lottery pick really puts us back into the Love race - especially if GS really won't trade Thompson. I think a package of NO pick, Rockets pick(s), T.Jones, Euro Stash(s) is right in the ballpark.

Remember Love has to "agree" to want to resign where he's traded else why give up more then that - and yes I know teams have said they would trade for him without that assurance but let's forget them for now because that never seems to happen.

So who else besides us can offer a lottery pick PLUS multiple #1's and young assets to the Wolves that Love would agree to? Nobody. So all we have to worry about is another team - like GS - willing to give up a MAJOR young player who trumps our lottery pick. Maybe that offer is out there but I haven't heard it.

If a General Manager heard that the Rockets were about to acquire Kevin Love for Terrence Jones, a decent lottery pick and a bunch of #27 overalls, they can so easily swoop in and nab him from us. Even without confirmation of extending. It'd be worth the relatively small risk.

Is there anyway could even acquire Love without giving up Parsons? We have Jones, DMo, and the NOLA first, but do we have any other assets that the TWolves would even want? Or is it pretty much necessary to give up Parsons?

We will have the Asik trade exception ($8.4MM) to absorb any bad contract plus future 1sts and Euro stash players. I think it's definitely possible for Morey to give them the best deal.

Did we get a trade exception or did New Orleans just absorb Asik's cap hit?

We will get an exception once the deal is done.

Didn't realize we had a trade exception.

Would anyone give us something the TWolves might want for lin? We could send him to a 3rd team and send whatever from that to the TWolves.....assuming Lin is worth anything

Who's first to blink? Rockets giving up Parsons, or Golden State giving up Klay. If you're not first you're last. Also, if we acquire Love, we can use the offseason money to bolster bench. Who would be high profile cuts? Chicago comes to mind when they make room for Melo.

Considering Parsons' option will be declined on Monday, we won't have him to offer anymore.

Can't do a sign and trade?

Granted that could be ruined by Parsons signing a huge offer sheet that scares the Wolves away

If we are truly making Parsons a RFA we can no longer trade him w/o his permission and in that case it would have to be a straight 1 for 1 trade or two separate deals. Way too complex now. Morey really threw a wrench on our package. If we get Love without Parsons it says that Love was very particular on where he would sign long term and teams weren't willing to gamble. All the Lakers gave for Dwight was an injured prone Bynum and that proved to be enough and a bad gamble for the Lakers. Morey has that reality as a bargaining chip.

I don't think the Rockets can trade Parsons now that he is officially RFA. If trading him is the only way to get Love, then it's "not happening".

It wouldn't have mattered anyways. Minnesota would not have wanted an expiring Parsons.

It looks like we can get some good player cheap like Dunleavy and Gibson when chicago trade players for cap space to sign Carmelo

No chance Chandler agrees to leave the Rockets and join the Wolves sans Love.
