What would Lowry add to Miami? LeBron and Wade are already ball handlers/play makers. I suppose he's still an upgrade at PG

Yeah, if the Heat add pieces where they need help like you're saying it would have a bigger impact than just plugging in Melo and hoping for a Team USA starting 4 to win a ring with a third world country bench. I agree that Riley is eyeing Melo. Just don't see him taking a huge pay cut but all will depend on how much Wade/Bosh take.

ITA about gortat ariza and lowry wanting $$$ and gasol as a possible low cost signing.
No way Washington is not resigning gortat and love is definitely not going to Miami without a trade return of bosh which would require a sign n trade bosh would never agree to.

However you seem pretty confident about the rockets getting either melo, love, bosh or Lowry. I guess with Morey's record I don't blame you. However IMO its unlikely the rockets sign any of the four. I think there is little to no chance bosh leaves Miami and with love I just don't see the rockets having a credible offer for Minnesota. Nowhere on Minnesota's forum or media do they regard the rocket's as serious trade partners... Besides cfans, the vast majority believe that Boston, Chicago and warriors have much better offers.

Lastly lowry & melo, both of whom I believe the rockets have a real shot at. Lowry i think the rockets have a decent chance at though id favor toronto and wonder about his history with mchale. With melo I think its more likely he either resigns with NY due to $$$, city, kids & wife or signs with Chicago. Im guessing NY as the likeliest at 45%, then Chicago at 25% and Houston at 20% and 10% for other.

I don't believe the heat have a real shot at melo. Bosh isn't opting out to not return nor is it likely all four guys take paycuts of 6-10 million each. Like Riley himself said, melo is a pipe dream... Possible but very improbable.

I think it's a huge mistake on Wade's part. He will never see that kind of money again. Same for Bosh, to a lesser extent.

Here's how I see it. I see Melo as a race between chicago and houston, unless miami goes after him at the expense of Bosh. He's not spending his prime rebuilding in NY. And if Miami did that, then I'm very confident Bosh is a Rocket. And on Melo, I think Melo realizes the Rockets are a more complete team than the Bulls, where Rose's health is a major question also.

If they strike out on both, I think the team gets either Pau Gasol or Lowry back with their cap space, along with bringing Parsons back.

My gut feeling is the Rockets get Melo.

At this point in their career I don't think they need nor care about money

Wade will be taken care of and Bosh will get more jewelry to wear if he stays in Miami. Diamonds are a Bosh's best friend.

Like many others, I'm guessing wade will be well compensated via a long term contract for opting out, like Richard Jefferson was by the spurs a few years back. If I were the heat 5 yr 60 million would be what I'd shoot for. Expect something like 4 or 5 year from 55-65million.

Damn, we might just have the worst luck this offseason.
Lbj,melo, bosh, love, Lowry were the plan A-E

Lebron, wade, bosh have already spoken about reuniting. Wade wouldn't back out of that much money if there was a possibility of retaining the big 3.
With the capspace I they're gonna being in Lowry who fits in well with them.

Melo won't go to Miami, even with the added capspace I don't see it happening. I really think he's going to Chicago, he fits in perfectly with them and gets the brighter lights.

We don't have the best offer for love and it doesn't even seem to enthusiastic about coming to Houston.

With us having to resign parsons, we really placed a huge bet on a max player coming to town this offseason.

It sucks when there are guys like Morey who have done everything trying to get his team in a good position and then there's Riley who does nothing but clear cap space and relies on players colluding to form a super team.

Disagree. At this point in their career it should be about getting the most money. Wade already has 3 rings. But looks like Lebron has forced them to take pay cuts.

I agree with most of this. The only thing I've never understood was the "bright lights" argument. If San Antonio had bright lights they would have probably burnt out with the AC, but Tim and Pop sit there with 5 rings. Lebron had every endorsement you could think of when he was in Cleveland and well its Cleveland. All the NBA "bright lights" were at one time dim but stars always bring this up. The brightest lights are during the playoffs/finals and if you go to a city with built in bright lights it just comes off that you're not a true superstar.

Concerning Love, to be fair it doesn't sound like he's been enthusiastic about joining any team.

Our time to shine in the "bright lights" aka the playoffs dimmed a lot of enthusiasm about this team. I truly believe Our showing in the playoffs, esp harden, hurt our chances a bit in big time stars wanting to come play with us.
The fact that Chicago or Boston is even on anyone's list is crazy seeing the talent on our team. The bulls overachieved with an ailing team, and we underachieved with a team in full force. If we made any noise in this last playoffs I think we would be singing a different tune.
