No they aren't. The Rockets are still in play for Bosh, Melo, Lowry, and trades for Love or Rondo. The heat at best will be able to afford four of LeBron, Melo, Bosh, Wade, Lowry, with Wade and LeBron being locks. The Rockets will be in prime position to get the one left out by trading Jeremy Lin. And they will still be able to upgrade by trading for Rondo or Love, or even signing Pau Gasol to play next to Dwight.
I think Morey might get Bosh to Rockets... would be perfect fit the more i think about it... 15-16 mill a year would be good Bev Harden Parsons Bosh Howard If we lose out on Melo of course...

Second Note: If Bosh leaves... Heat could feasibly add or do S&T with Minny for Love (prob won't happen) They could add Kyle Lowry, Luol Deng, Marci Gortat, Ariza, or Pau Gasol for cheap (2 0r 3 of these guys... (if some of those take some pay cuts as well... yikes... Heat could be really damn good next year
The Heat don't have assets to trade for Kevin Love. And let's presume LeBron gets 20, Bosh 15, Wade 12-13. That's 47-48M of their record cap space. They will get one, or two of those guys on your list at most because they still have to fill other spots on their roster to reach the minimum number of players. Plus, guys like Lowry, Deng or Ariza aren't going to start taking 2-3 million each simply to win rings.
Dwade just opted out and now this: Report: Knicks confident they will keep Melo, will target Pau Gasol http://t.foxsports.msn.com/nba/report-knicks-confident-they-will-keep-melo-will-target-pau-gasol No love either Lowry to Miami Lamarcus max to stay put Ugh not feeling optimistic
I could see Gasol getting cheap money if Bosh left.. they add Lowry for 8 mill or some poison pill contract.. then add Gortat... its possible
Yes, the Knicks will get Pau for 3 million. And Melo will stay on a sinking ship with no shot at winning a ring. I don't think so. He opted out for a reason, and it wasn't to stay on a crappy Knicks team.
Miami negotiating long term contracts for wade or haslem in exchange for them opting out is not a violation of the CBA. It wasn't when the spurs did it with Richard Jefferson and it isn't now.
Gasol I can see taking a cheap deal to ring chase. But Lowry, Ariza and Gortat are going to want to be paid. Deng may not care about the money either, but I doubt it. Point is if they keep the big 3, they will get one or two of those guys you listed. Keep in mind they have 2 or 3 players under contract, maximum. Even minimum salary guys have to be paid.
Still hard to believe Wade left that much money over the next two years where he most likely misses 20-30 games each season. Best guess is LBJ gets the max, Wade and Bosh take pay cuts, and the Heat land Lowry to replace Chalmers. Hate that I let the hype get my hopes up so much. At least I can be happy for Lowry concerning the LBJ situation (if that happens). On to Melo and Love!
Agreed. I dunno if Bosh takes that bog a cut .. .but he is a bit of a yes man I think they doing this more for Melo then Lowry If they get Lowry or Gortat - I think I would be more concerned than with Melo Rocket River
I wanted to start a thread, but if we strike out on a 3rd star i would gladly take Lowry and Ryan Anderson. Anderson is on the trading block according to Woj. I think that would be a SOLID upgrade. In fact, i think i would take Lowry+Anderson over Melo simply because of fit. Am i crazy?
