    That much is clear, but it was something I was curious about.

    I feel that Morey might feel pretty confident if he is to allow Parsons to become eligible to receive that 10-12million a year mark.

    No need to worry. Parsons is going to stay. Rockets just decline him so they can offer more money to FA but we will match any offer to Parsons.

    It's my understanding that if we pull our QO and make him unrestricted, his cap hold is lowered. This may be a necessary step to create max room for a free agent. If we work out an agreement with him to sign (unrestricted) after Melo/LeBron/whoever, this might be the route to take.

    Agreed completely.

    The only thing I am worried about is us missing on every single target that we have and then being tied into a Parsons' extension, thus losing our cap flexibility. I'd almost rather him walk.

    Parsons is a good enough player where we could ship him out a la Asik if need be. You don't let players like him walk.

    The one benefit on that side is that we would have a $8.5 mil trade exception from this Asik trade.

    Dwight and James don't need to recruit anyone. GM will talk with FA if they want they will come. If not, we will strengthen our roster without more star power.
