Per Spears- The Rockets have told Chandler Parsons they have officially declined his 4th-year option next season thus making him a RFA, a source said. 12:52 PM - 28 Jun 2014
There was some speculation that the rockets may not actually follow through with it. It's official now. I tend to think someone committed, whether it's Lowry, Melo, or Minnesota to trade Love.
What happens if he is offered a deal on day one? then we can't match. I hope there is a wink wink deal with parsons to wait to sign.
We haven't even met with Melo yet, and the deadline for this is like July 1 I think. It' s something we have to decide on now regardless of free agency options.
Can someone help me understand why we wouldn't have tried trading him for a future pick? The other team could have retained his option correct? There has to be something I'm missing or perhaps I'm unclear on the rules.
Morey would have picked it up if that were so. He knows something is going down. Question though. Do we lose his bird-rights if you make him unrestricted and pick up his fourth year? If that is the case, than Morey knows this is one chance to have 3 big names, and Chandler Parsons.
