How cruel can you get? First the crossbar in the last minute overtime! And then the post in penalties!! Much respect to Chile. Brasil you got lots of work to do.
I know a lot of people don't like PK's deciding games, but I think it's better than having a sloppy goal scored in the 240'th minute if you just kept going on with OT's till a goal eventually scored. It would be like watching heavyweight MMA guys fight in the 12th round.....no one really wants to see that.
I would have rather had the game end in the 119th minute with that vicious Panilla shot that hit the crossbar. That would have been a glorious ending.
Loved Chile but had to go with host Brazil because I do not want to break millions of hearts Hulk should learn how to smash more effectively sheesh
Trust this guy, if you've ever seen two tired heavyweights in a MMA match it is something you DON'T want to see.
Why not, in OT, take a man off the field every 3-5 minutes? Eventually, you'd get to 1-on-1 and someone's going to score. It at least would still be decided as a traditional soccer game instead of some articifial construct. This is like an NBA game being decided with a free throw shooting contest. (note: I'm not an expert on soccer and rarely watch, so this is an uneducated opinion)
I don't think Brazil is all that good this WC, they don't look like the same class team as others. DD
I have no problem with PKs... there is not any better way that i can think of to decide a game. but they should do it NASL style!
Except they aren't. One team is asked to make free throws, but the other team has to keep scoring traditionally. That's not a free throw contest.
