wasnt there a guy that was so sure that no way in hell wade would opt out? lol he would even talk like he already opted in as if it was a foregone conclusion.

i mean, Wade already made a boatload of money in his career. maybe he just values winning more. And technically he could easily make that $40M back if they gave him say $10M per 4 years or 3 with an option. not exactly far fetched for Wade to opt out

if all 3 take enough of a paycut, can they get Melo? If so, might as well just get rid of the playoffs in the east and let the west play it off for their chance against Miami.

The Rockets management arent saints either...There was definitely a side deal in place with Parson's agent and the Rockets.

Its why the NBA should move to eliminate the Eastern and western conference playoffs all together and just have the top 16 teams ranked in order of record once the season has concluded.

Are you allowed to opt-out with an agreement on the new deal you would sign with the team? Lebron is easy because he can command whatever salary he wants; maybe Bosh and Wade too. But for a guy like Haslem, can he have discussed a new contract with Miami prior to opting out, or does he have to opt-out and hope that Miami is open to paying him again?

Good question. Don't know. What we do know for sure is Haslem isn't riskng $5 million by opting out. He knows the Heat will take care of him.

If Melo and the Knicks can meet and discuss the future prior to an opt-in/out deadline, Haslem and the Heat probably can also.
