This dude on the Rockets Sub Reddit apparently asked Beverly about Lebron coming here at the Astros game last night. http://www.reddit.com/r/rockets/comments/29as8d/got_to_talk_to_patrick_beverly_today_bad_news_guys/

That's big for them. Must be offering him the room MLE, which would guarantee him and extra $500k or so over the next 2 years.

As of this very moment, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh have not made decisions on their contract options, I've been told.
— Jeff Zillgitt (@JeffZillgitt) June 28, 2014
This was posted at 10:37 PM last night. Zillgit is the USA TODAY NBA reporter. If they really haven't made up their mind yet, then it's unlikely Lebron has made a decision even if he has a preference to stay. It doesn't mean they won't opt out, but if Wade and Bosh haven't decided what they are going to do makes it much more than just a formality that they will opt out and take lesser deals.
I think this was already expected. Haslem has been there his entire career, and they can easily find ways to have him earn that money back later on. I never thought otherwise. Personally, I'm not that unhappy with this move. The one big advantage people say Chicago have over Houston is that "he's guaranteed finals in the East" looks much more daunting on paper if Miami gets Lowry. I say on paper because I still don't believe in Wade's health. But the East would look more annoying for Melo under these circumstances. So regardless of how things play out, the Rockets have a good shot at someone.
they don't need a TRADE BOSH for him like he was referring to,haslem opted out $4.8 player option, if bosh and wade just took $15mill each that's almost $15 mill left for another player just right there, not including wade may take even less and lebron may take less also. It's alot going on with Knicks, heat, bulls pretty soon, we have just to wait and see what's going to happen, we have to understand here PAT, PHIL, etc will make moves just like MOREY will
My guess is that they're just delaying their inevitable decision so that it makes it seem less like collusion. In the end, I'm betting they're working together to give Miami its needed cap space to upgrade the roster.
Well, that didn't last long. There wasn't really ever much doubt, but with Haslem declining his option it's all but certain that Miami sticks together.
Honestly if Lebron isn't coming to Houston, I would rather him stay in Miami than go to another contender. Bosh and Wade aren't exactly the strongest "big 3" partners at this point. Of course we have to see what else they can add. Still, nothing is a done deal until Wade and Bosh actually do opt out and resign.
Wait wait wait. ....... No wink-wink deals allowed! Somebody call Silver, quick! Illegal! Not allowed!
What happens to Lebron's legacy if he fails to win another title. Father time has already caught up with Wade, Haslem, Allen and Bosh...Lebron has shown to be vulnerable and isnt the same indestructible player...Miami is hoping that a quick coat of body paint can cover the eroding engine parts. Good luck Lebron... Lastly, I believe that indirectly the owners have won...they have forced star athletes to collude and cut back on salaries in order to compete for title success...and have set a dangerous financial precedence for the rest of the players in this league and their individual earning potential. You dont think that Morey is gonna bring up how much Lebron is playing for this season in contract negotiations with Parsons???
Wink wink deals are not allowed but of course they are hard to prove. Your suggested wink wink deal was Wade take a minimum contract and then get a new deal later for the max again. That would be OBVIOUS and would get negated. But, please, continue to post wild fantasy theories that never happen and then have the nerve to mock someone else. It's hilarious.
In salary negotiations, arent the previous salaries taken into consideration...therefore getting the max is probably not even possible. Back deals might be, but Im sure there are provisions that penalize teams for doing such...
I think one thing we as fans need to do is collectively breath out and realize that we are in a good spot. LeBron sounds amazing but it wasn't realistic. What we do with Parsons tomorrow should be the first telling sign. If we go through with making him a RFA that tells me we are still confident in landing that next big fish or even building around what we have. I trust Morey. We still could possibly land Love/Lowry/ Melo to be our 3rd BEST player. That is incredible. Even if not, we still have Harden and Howard, which is probably the best 1-2 combination we had since Hakeem and Clyde. (Yes, I think Harden and Howard are the better combo to Mac and Yao). Things are good for our team and we are in a good spot to add some pieces regardless if it is someone we think is a superstar.
