And even then, Harden is 12th in front court touches (touches on offensive side) behind many starting point guards.

how bad does melo want to win a title? offer him a 4yr/32mil deal...tell him the rest of the money will be used on getting a good bench for him...see if he is really serious about a title shot.

Oh I'm sorry, those possession stats were for playoffs.

He's not even top 25 in front court touches per game or time of possession in the regular season.

He needs to attack early in the shot clock and move the ball a lot more. So i could easily see why Melo wanting to play with D.Rose could be the truth and not some fake story invented by the media.

The whole thing is flawed, according to those stats no pointguard has more than 15 back court touches per game, and if you watch the game you'll see they easily have 10 or more per quarter

So you seriously believe Raymond Felton dominates the ball more than Harden?

Do you actually pay attention to what Harden does throughout the game? Not just the last minute of a game?

What was a big reason for the Knicks' struggles this year? And what is keeping them from retooling around Carmelo?

Oooh thats right, Amare isn't playing but is still getting paid max money. And when he does play, he isn't near what he used to be.

Sounds a lot like what may be happening in Chicago. Wouldn't want to go through that again.

I believe aeliott broke down and provided all the information that showed the stat wasn't flawed in a post a while back.

There is no denying that if Melo comes to Houston, that it will take some time for the three of them being Harden, Melo and Dwight to figure out how to spread the ball among them while remaining happy with their touches. We should never discount that superstars care about touches even though they may not blatantly say so. With that said, between Houston and Chicago from a talent standpoint and readiness to actually win a NBA championship, Houston ranks ahead.

If Melo really cares about winning, he will have to understand that he will have sacrifice touches and so will Harden and Dwight. Harden who despite what the "clutch" statistics say, is not on Melo's level when it comes to last second/late game dump the ball to situations. Melo will help tremendously in that regard especially when the half court offense stalls and you need to will your way to the basket. But, if Melo is concerned about being the focal point of the offense because if he comes to Houston there will be times when he's the 3rd and even 4th option then Chicago will be his destination of choice.

Sounds like a good way to not land Melo.

And good luck to the Rockets winning a title with the same roster that got eliminated by Portland in the first round.

Only a dumbass takes an $8 million a year contract when they can get $19-$23 million per year. No way you or anybody else leaves $10 million or more per year on the table when they can paid what they are truly worth and still have a shot at winning.

Shoot, I'll be surprised if any of you would leave $5 on the table just so the company you work for can hire better employees and do better.

Except it's not going to be the same roster. The Rockets are going to upgrade this offseason, the only question is which players get added and subtracted.

    This.

Rose WAS a wonderful player. He is NOW a walking severe injury for calling it quits. Ask a hard worker like Yao Ming how hard was it to rehab from any of his season ending injuries and he would probably tell you that eventually you just say to youself: "Fark it...maybe it was not mean to be".

If Melo chooses Chicago because of Rose, he will be making a mistake.

hey, melo should've just opted in for 23mil with the knicks and wait till next yr and re-sign for max...why even bother going into free agency. if it is all about money, he should just stay where he is. end of story.

Just because he isn't willing to cut his salary in half doesn't mean he doesn't care about winning. He can take a 3-4m a year paycut and still greatly improve his chances of winning this year.

Why even ask for $10,000,000......by your logic he should just play for the vet min then right?
