Couldn't agree more. Now that we have 2 stars, you would think things would change, but it's feeling like much of the same. Sure, we have 2 bona fide superstars on the team, but it's 2 superstars that apparently nobody respects or wants to play with (if you read between the lines of what CyberX is saying). So, not only are we expected to bend over for other teams when they're busy acquiring their stars due to OFF THE COURT amenities (location, media perception, endorsements, etc), but even when we DO have the roster that other players would be expected to want to join, we're STILL treated like the step-child of the NBA.
First, Dwight signed here because of Harden. Melo said he'd like to play with Dwight. Lebron called Harden a superstar and his little bro. Melo will visit Houston when Free Agency opens. Broussard listed Houston as one of the five teams Lebron has said he'd be interested in. Yep, nobody respects or wants to play with our stars. Don't let yourself get sucked into the office gossip that gets posted. Please don't forget how much poo pooing Cyber was doing on Dwight's interest in the Lakers and how much the Lakers wanted to keep him (according to Cyber.) Now nobody likes him, respects him or thinks he's smart.
lol...tying it back to the Bledsoe thread I see...well played sir! I'd do it for the right player who I thought could help us as much or more than Love helps them. Bledsoe is that kind of player BUT there's that "R" in front of his FA status. That would make me pass because the risk is too high it would help the Warriors and turn out to be nothing for us. Somebody else may help them but it won't be me.
Not as long as we have the chance to get Kevin Love ourselves. The cost in assets to move Lin elsewhere COULD also be the same cost to move Lin to Minnesota directly as part of a deal for Kevin Love. Why not send those extra assets to Minny with Lin for Love ourselves???? As long as there is the possibility of Love being traded here I say no. And this is because I value Love WAY MORE than I do Melo because of the difference in age, the difference in salary and the fact that Love can stretch the floor while also functioning as a backup center when Dwight goes out. So if people view Love as a better player and fit than Melo here then you'd have to wait it out. And I definitely would NOT do this between now and July 1st. I have a theory that I would want to see play out first. That being that Minny ideally wants to dump contracts and create cap space to make a hard run at Pau this summer. For that to happen, they need to have the trade(s) done or at least agreed upon before July 1st so they know they have the cap space to approach Pau. With that thought in mind, I suspect we are one of the few (and maybe only) teams that are willing to trade for Love while giving up substantial assets (DMo, Asik pick, 2 future firsts, perhaps even Capella) and also taking back enough salary to allow Minny to chase Pau (the obvious target and fit with Rubio). So, I would not do that deal right now. If GS's deal for Love is Klay/David Lee/2 of our second rounders (plus it looks like a re-signed Steve Blake) for Love and Martin.....then it would make sense to me that Minny would be more interested in a deal with us whereby they get major cap space and they could take the Asik pick and perhaps another asset and turn it into a player of similar quality to Klay and have the opportunity to get Pau locked in as well, along with having cap space in 2015 to chase Marc.
CyberX stated that Pau Gasol and LBJ did not think highly of Dwight's intelligence. None of what you posted conflicts with that. Not sure what's the thorn on your backside to what CyberX reported beyond that you simply don't agree.
I would make that trade if it meant getting Melo and especially if it mean getting LeBron But if all GS needs to get that Love deal done is to throw in two 2nd round picks they should be able to get that done without having to acquire and spend the money for Lin. Now GS never had an issue selling tickets so while having Lin on that roster will definitely help tickets sales and the such its not like we're talking about the Golden State teams of 2004 - they'll be fine with Curry and Love. I am sure there are other teams that would be willing to take on Lin. Because IMO getting either Melo or LeBron would make the Rockets the better team than GS
Simple answer on Howard. Do you think LeBron would want to have a playoff game determined by Howard's free throw shooting? Somebody like Melo probably wouldn't care much, but LeBron has worked on his game over the years to turn his weakness into strengths. What has Howard done to improve his game except spend a lot of time/money w/Dream? He still doesn't have a game away from the basket. I like Howard, but he has a rep of being a bit of a jokester. Some players are okay with that others aren't. If I remember correctly Howard was doing an imitation of Kobe @ the All-Star game in Houston. You don't do that to a teammate unless he's cool with it. Retired HOF players like Shaq and Barkley can make fun of each other on TV, but it shows a lack of respect for an active player to mock another active player.
Best advice for anyone new to CF. The only thing hurting the Rockets chances is that Houston isn't as appealing as SF, Miami, LA, NY, or Chicago.
i'm wondering what deal we already have lined up for lin? do you think we can get a 2nd rd pick for him or some TPE?
Once again? No, he doesn't. The Wolves have consistently had 5s through the whole depth chart while he has been there.
