Does Dougie affect Melo's chances for Chicago?

Back to the top. The Lebron dream is coming to an end. Let's talk more about Melo now.

Yeah, hopefully we can get Melo. If we miss out on him, then I like that the Love trade isn't going down before free agency, we will make a run at him. Then Lowry.

Tell me when he adds a barber from Houston to his Twitter. That's the information that I'm waiting for.

Not sure about cap implications but won't the Bulls have to pay more for McDermott and Anthony Randolph than they would have with their prior first rounders?

    Yep.

    Bulls now need to...

    Amnesty Boozer
Trade Dunleavy, Randolph, Snell and Smith
    Waive James, Amundson and Brewer

    That leaves them with
    Rose - 18.8 million
    Noah - 12.2 million
    Gibson - 8 million
    Butler - 2 million
    McDermott - 1.9 million

Adding up to 42.9 million in salary, add 3 million for minimum roster cap holds and they have roughly 46 million in salary, only enough to give Anthony a deal for 4 years/73 million. Which is almost to low of a pay cut for Carmelo to take, but the Bulls can't really afford to get rid of anybody else.

They would have to either get rid of either Butler or McDermott to make him a 4 year/80 million offer.

Mean while the rockets have to
    Trade Lin and Motiejunas
Waive Casspi, Covington, Powell and have Garcia opt out

Then the Rockets could offer Anthony 4 years 84 million

    To pair him up with

    Howard
    Harden
    Parsons
    Beverley
    Jones
    Daniels
    Canaan
    Johnson
    Gentile

He's probably one of those that think the Heat getting Napier means he is a 100% lock to stay...

It appears the Heat are targeting Lowry (IF Wade & Bosh take big enough salary cuts). If we miss on Melo then we will be competing with Miami & Toronto for Lowry. We should be able to top Miami or match Toronto if it comes to that. Lowry is talking alot about winning a championship.

    So, in essence..

Chicago (assuming they jettison who they need to):
    Rose
    Butler
    Anthony / McDermott
    Gibson
    Noah

Houston (assuming they trade Lin and others)
    Bev / Johnson
    Harden / Daniels
    Parsons
    Anthony / Jones
    Howard

Would Chicago be able to use their MLE? BAE? Vet Min? What about us?

not to be a downer, but i thought carmelo coming here would be a reality, but it seems more likely that he's going to chicago.

man, i don't want to leave this offseason without some name..

hopefully, by divine intervention, it's love
