Actually Portugal had a lot to do with us advancing, mainly by the 2 goals WE scored against them. We also stopped Ghana from winning. I thank them for giving us a good fight, but they are going home. The USMNT has earned the right to advance and not one bit of your trolling is going to change that.

And the WC isn't over yet. You and your team still have time to lose. But I can already hear you whining that "at least we didn't lose in the group stage".
    Sound about right?

That's a hypothetical situation that did not occur. I will not thank people for an unlikely probabilistic scenario. Palpably, hindsight after the game today is 20/20. However, the United States DID save Mexico, and Mexico was ELIMINATED if the U.S. does not save them. Probability in that case was a Mexico elimination. Go ahead and thank us now.

    Yyyyeap.
Not my opinion, but that's a fact, yeah. I already said that. Also, everyone who doesn't end up champion will lose at least ONCE, but some will lose TWICE.

    Here, enjoy:

You are so right, some will lose twice. I seem to remember something very familiar occurring in 2002:

Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
    Mexico 3 2 1 0 4 2 +2 7
    Italy 3 1 1 1 4 3 +1 4
    Croatia 3 1 0 2 2 3 −1 3
    Ecuador 3 1 0 2 2 4 −2 3

Pld W D L GF GA GD Pts
    South Korea 3 2 1 0 4 1 +3 7
    United States 3 1 1 1 5 6 −1 4
    Portugal 3 1 0 2 6 4 +2 3
    Poland 3 1 0 2 3 7 −4 3

    Which all lead to this:
    Mexico 0–2 United States
    McBride 8'
    Donovan 65'

    And unfortunately this:
    Germany 1–0 United States
    Ballack 39'

    Damn, the hate is real.
What's wrong with cheering for the Americas?
**** Europe. We are fighting amongst ourselves when we should be fighting Europe.

I have American pride, and I think everyone living in America should support the USA as well. I don't know why that is so absurd.

Here is a hint as to whom is responsible for all this. The person uses a lot of:

    :mad::eek::eek::rolleyes::cool::grin:;):p:eek::eek::(:):eek::confused::eek:

Still 2 USA losses to 1 Mexican loss. So you beat us. Didn't know that counted as 2.

    Good for you!
LOL. Funny, I thought this was the United States of America, land of the free to like whoever we want. Odd!

Same here, ipaman. Also, if you ask a random 20 fans what the circle and semicircles mean in the field, half won't know. They just want to jump on the bandwagon only when they play. Most don't know anything and just want to get together to drink and be "in" at the time of popularity.
So? What is that, like ONE... and NONE in Qualifying? Count that one in a 'friendly' against how many that MEXICO has won in YOUR land?

Both teams are favored to lose.

Its like watching Bobcat fans argue with 76er fans.

The irony of this statement is loud enough to hear across the border. But whatever, go USA and go CONCACAF!

Straw man argument in regards to what I am saying. My statement does not imply forcing someone to only cheer for the USA. I wish more people in the USA would cheer for the American team.

There are people who live here who have roots in other countries.
We're a melting pot, that is to be expected.

Just because you live in America does not mean you are obligated to support team USA lol. Just like if you live in Houston you don't have to support the Rockets.
I certainly want people to root for whichever team they can relate to more.

    LOL:grin: Great post.
I have to say Belgium has not impressed me this tournament, they are a talented team, but they haven't played like one. I think the US actually has a pretty good chance.

The way Robben and Van Persie are playing, I think it will be very difficult for Mexico to win this matchup.

I am extremely happy with the schedule, first Mexico, than Costa Rica and in the semi finals Argentina. We cannot meet France, Germany nad Brasil untill the finals.

It is going to be an interesting week.

Except that the Belgium bench has impressed me a lot. One or two guys come in and they immediately score 1 or 2 goals.

I do not think Klinsmann has that.

"I wish our soccer team was as good as USA's or Mexico's."

    Said no country ever.
