Cavs would be insane to do that. The draft is two-deep with Wiggins and Parker - huge dropoff after that.
I honesty think it would be best to completely ignore Lin's career after he gets traded. I get it will be amusing to gloat when he fails with another franchise but let them have his ridiculous fans. Make zero threads about eremy imo
Won't happen. Les was the only person who wanted him heard and that was for revenue. Houston would help him pack his bags.
Feigen mentioned in his Lin trade column that sources say we can get a second round pick for him, which frankly surprised me. "The Rockets likely will receive only a future second-round pick for Lin, not a first-rounder like the got for Asik, a person with knowledge of the Rockets’ trade talks said." http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterockets/2014/06/jeremy-lin-up-next-on-rockets-plan-to-clear-cap-room/
You have to realize that: 1. They have to send SOMETHING back to us and considering we don't want any players back, that leaves a draft pick. 2. You can bet that draft pick is going to protected until kingdom comes and we will never sniff it. 3. It mentions nothing about what WE have to cough up in addition to Lin to get anyone to take him.
Tyson Chandler shows his support for Lin...Had no clue Tyson liked Lin so much. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nm0KcaYFoVE Disclaimer: I take no credit for finding this gem. Someone posted that link on the comment section at the following site: http://blog.chron.com/ultimaterocke...plan-to-clear-cap-room/#24631101=0&24632103=0 LOL
You know, there IS the possibility that Lin actually does have a market out there. I'm not saying he's good, but he looks worse on the Rockets because the Rockets severely lacks bad contracts. He's not better than Asik, who makes the same money. He's not better than Harden/Howard of course. And he makes like 5 times more than everyone else. If you just look at his stat sheet without any other context, a GM can easily think he can be very good if he only get out of Harden's shadow. Yes, that sounds like LOF speaking, but it's not the most unreasonable thing in the world. Add in the marketing angle, I wouldn't be totally shocked if Lin's traded for a 2nd rounder. I personally feel it's unlikely, but then again I didn't think a pick for Asik would only be top-3 protected.
This, Lin is underrated in this board. If you read some poster's opinion regarding him you'll think he is a scrub. Kid doesn't suck, he has some upside. Just terribly inconsistent.
