The USA got through, that is all that matters at this point, they will get another game - and to me that is a pretty good result so far.

Ups and downs - just what a WC should be.

It could be worse, we could be Spain, Italy, or the UK fans...

    :)

That's the last they've said about Altidore. Chance he plays on Tuesday. Good thing we got the extra day.

No question that Germany dominated the 2nd half. We were lucky to only lose 0-1. Very remarkable that we nearly tied it.

Still, we showed we were the 2nd best team in a difficult group, despite losing Altidore & Bradley struggling.

Never watched much soccer, but started to this year. It's not as boring as I thought. There's not much scoring, but the shots on goal are exciting even if they miss. It's also cool watching the offense setup. Not too shabby a sport. Baseball, football, and basketball are still much better though.

Go USA!! Buffalo Wild Wings was extra hype during the Portugal game.

The f#ck is your deal with MBradley dude?? jeez.
That seems to be the only player you want to focus on. Did he beat you(or your relative) for a spot on the U-17s or U20s back in the day? Did his dad cut your favourite player from the Chicago Fire, Metrostars or Chivas USA at some point???

Sheesh. He wasn't great he wasn't terrible. He was just ok and his defensive work rate was better today(closer to how it normally is). Some passes and touches could have been better but that applies to the entire team. No one was magical with their first touch every time or to my knowledge had a 100% passing success rate(amongst mids and fwds)(I haven't checked the stats yet but someone can let us know).

Either way, give it a rest sheesh.

Exactly brother. You're getting it. It makes the goal all the more worth it when a team does score.

Not sure I'd agree w/you about Baseball but it's all good, as long as you're enjoying soccer now you're following the WC.

If you want to talk about a boring sport look at baseball. Bunch of fat athletes being paid to stand around for 75% of the game.

    Schmelzer?

If no Schmelzer, Id figure play Lahm at LB (Since JBoateng is at RB). Lahm at LB would still be an upgrade over Howedes in that position right? But by most accounts read, Lahm said no to playing Left back is that correct?
Maybe ATW might know more about Lahm and his left back refusal.

I didn't even bandwagon when the Astros were good. That's how bad the sport sucks.

I guess some people feel that way about soccer, but I've never really understood how baseball is so popular.

The "thanking" of Ronaldo is ridiculous. If Ronaldo does not score, the U.S. still move on because the game ends in a tie. The hypothetical situation of Ghana scoring does not count as a reason.

Schmelzer didn't even make the world cup squad, played a bad season at Dortmund and is out of the picture. Lahm doesn't want to play LB anymore, so playing him as RB and then using Durm, Boateng or Großkreutz would be the best solution.
