He didn't lose more finals appearances than he won.

Jordan didn't have a garbage conference like this is now...I don't ever recall there being this big a discrepancy in one conference over the other as there is right now.

Jordan won in the Finals, too...every single time...he had great support when he got there. Lebron is coming of a loss where he was pretty much the only bright spot on his team.

    Screw looses all around.

Must have been due to over partying after the Asik trade and Team USA advancing.

Hopefully you guys will be back to normal after draft day.

Well, first we could trade Lin, DMo and our #25 pick for nothing to clear up somewhere around 19 million to sign Lebron outright with. Feel free to check out the math on that, but it has been stated many times elsewhere. I think we also would be releasing players like Cassipi, Covington and Powell while Garcia opts out as well.

After signing Lebron, then we go all in on a trade for Love. Of course, Minny would have to accept whatever the package is, but a package is possible under the CBA and Love would probably commit to sign long term to be on a team with Lebron, Howard and Harden.

We could use Parsons, Jones, Bev, the NO's pick, future 1st rounders and future second rounders, to hopefully come up with a package that Minny would be happy with.

Again, it may not me LIKELY, but it's POSSIBLE.

    Fantasies running wild, aren't they?

    Rockets creating a BIG FOUR!
Rockets have the best trade offer for Love!

No telling what else I've missed.

The HEAT shouldn't even win a Championship last year. It should be the Spurs two in a row. If Manu made those free throws..it's pretty much over. If Ray Allen missed the last seconds 3pointer...it's over. So i think to say the HEAT winning two of the last four Championships is a bit stretching. They were supposed to win 1 out of 4. 1 FREAKING out of 4!!! That's not getting it done. James should be leaving that team imo.

It is very possible with Lebron signing for 19 or 20 million. See my previous post. The biggest obstacle would be getting Minny to do a trade for Love with what we could offer. But if the timing is done right, we could have a package to trade to them for Love that would work under the CBA and give them some combination of Parsons, Jones, Bev, up to 3 first round picks that include that pick from NO and whatever number of second round picks that they wanted.

So you're saying that AFTER signing LeBron, we can trade Parsons/Jones/Beverly/Picks for Love....how is this done again? You just threw about $4 million in salaries and draft picks in exchange for a $15 million dollar player in Love. Are you implying that the Rockets S&T Parsons to the Wolves? Because there's quite a few factors that prevents such a S&T from happening...

Once you clear the cap to sign Lebron, you don't have anything more to trade for Love unless you include Harden or Howard. You can't have 4 stars unless Lebron takes MLE.

I even argue that 1 of the 4. Don't forget, they should have gotten eliminated by boston the first year, yet when the game came down to the line miami got a lot of questionable calls in their favor to come back and win. The refs cruised them to victory clearly that year.

I was dubious at first...but now I'm curious. While unlikely (as Fanfrom86 said), it may be possible.

Deal DMo, Asik, Lin, Canaan for enough room to sign Lebron. We are now at the cap. SnT Parsons for nearly $10M salary and add in the 3 picks + Bev + TJones.

Prob at the threshold of hitting luxury tax, and have no bench or PG...but hey:

    Harden, Lebron, KLove, Dwight haha.

If we think that we will get a Lebron or a Melo, we will decline Parsons option and make him a RFA before the deadline. In that case, we would be able to sign and trade him (he would have to agree) after we signed Lebron, to a contract that would be enough to trade for Love with either TJones and/or Bev plus the picks that Minny wants. While it would be depending on Parsons to accept the deal, if he can get more money by doing that SnT than he can from an offer sheet, because he may only get offered up to $10 or even less, if the Rockets and Wolves agree to SnT him at $11 million or more for 4 years, I'm guessing that Parson probably agrees to do it.

Thus the trade would work under the CBA. Hence POSSIBLE, no matter how unlikely.

Plus if it went down like that, I'm guessing that Morey would do everything to try to keep Bev in that deal, giving up more picks, so that we have our starting PG still.

    Bev
    Harden
    Lebron
    Love
    Howard

Probably the best starting lineup in the HISTORY of the NBA.

Feel free to disagree. But if it's possible, why would Morey not at least investigate it?

Like you said, the problem would be having Parsons agreeing to a sign and trade. Another problem is if they decline his team option, a team like Orlando (who's flushed with capspace all of a sudden) or LA can come in and torpedo Houston's chances by offering him a max-allowed contract. That would also lead to another problem of whether or not Minnesota wants to have a Chandler Parsons on a max-allowed contract. I guess I can agree that it's not impossible but it's very highly improbable considering a myriad of things has to go perfectly in order for your scenario to happen.

A side note: Not to split hairs but after paying Howard, LeBron, Love, Harden, the team would have ZERO flexibility to get any kind of bench/roster meaning that our core four would be burnt out by the All-Star break.

I believe that you can't trade Parsons after matching his restricted offer from another team, whether he wants to be traded or not, (and why would he want to go to a bad T-Wolves team for the same money as he would get here?).

This is one of those times I think that if I was another team's fan and visited this site, I'd walk away thinking Rockets fans are the most delusional fans ever.

That's correct. So in order for this mythical BIG 4 team to assemble, Morey has to tell Parsons "Look, we're going to decline your team option, making you a restricted free agent but I need you to accept our offer and only our offer so that we can trade you away to Minnesota. Don't look at other teams' offer even if they are for more money...you need to do us ANOTHER favor because I discovered you!"

Like you said, a world of things would have to go RIGHT in order for it to happen. I never said it was LIKELY to happen, just POSSIBLE.

But to answer your other question, if we keep Bev, then we could probably resign A.Brooks, Ray Allen and Garcia to vet minimum deals. I believe we might still have some type of at least one exception to sign a decent backup center or big man. We could probably also resign Daniels and Covingon if they are not picked up quickly. Lastly, we would still have our first round pick in 2016 and any second rounders that we didn't trade.

There are probably a few other veterans that would like to play on what would probably be the best starting lineup in the history of the NBA. Maybe Birdman, even Rashad Lewis may also want to follow Lebron like Allen would. There are still other options until we get more youth.

Our core though would be young enough to contend for titles for another 5 years, although we would need to resign them when the times come up. Les would pay some serious Luxury tax to have that team...but I don't care, it's his money not mine. lol
