I usually root for Germany. But this is tough, Americans are a really lovable underdog.

America is not a lovable underdog when you're a foreigner living in America.

Man, that Asik trade... Just read about it. New Orleans is crazy, they traded 3 lottery picks in a row, all they got to show for it is an ok starting point guard and an expensive rental center with knee issues.
Anthony Davis will end up leaving them, just like CP3.

I think Asik will resign. It might be worth the potential Asik/Davis frontcourt for the future. We'll see.

He won't be RFA. If they want to re-sign him, they'll have to pay more than anyone else and probably overpay. It will be another Gerald Wallace situation.

They could've been patient and signed him next year.

Any time you have a young growing team and you can cut corners and trade a likely lottery pick for an unrestricted expiring with knee issues, you got to do it.

Well, at least it's not as bad as their mascots.

I'd love to see other Asik offers. Houston was desperate to trade him, Les was bragging about adding a new free agent. And they pretty much get full value and more. Incredible.

Even if Asik was under contract for a couple more years, I'd still be concerned about giving a lottery pick for him. A torn ACL or MCL in the past, knee issues this year. He's not that great of a player to take such risk.

But in the current situation, with him being an underperforming expiring and Houston desperate to move him..

Listening constantly about how it's the greatest country in the world and how they have the moral high ground gets really old really fast. Especially if you have any grasp of international politics and history.
