VC is a free agent. Marion is a free agent. Even if they sign both of them, they are getting older. Dirk is getting old. Chandler is getting old. It is like Cuban is just trying to tread water. I bet it will all crash in just a year or possibly two
I love how posters keep taking shots at dirk as if he hasn't owned us. Dallas are dangerous cuz they get to have a star like dirk on a cheaper contract
He's 1000 years old. If they had 2004 Chandler and 2004 Dirk, they'd be almost as good a landing spot for a FA as Houston, with 2014 Dirk and 2014 Chandler.....not so much.
He's tried that recipe before. An allstar team that needed the balls in their hands to succeed. It sells tickets but not championships. Let them get Melo and watch that team cry themselves back to their locker rooms.
2015 DAL = 2014 NYK 2015 Chandler < 2014 Chandler 2015 Ellis > 2014 JR Smith 2015 Felton (LOL) < 2014 Felton (LOL) and then 2015 37yo Dirk > 2014 31yo Amare, but really how close is this to be honest? How long can we keep guaranteeing health and solid play from Dirk? Cuban is strutting around as though Dirk were a top 10 player in the NBA, but you just can't guarantee that for the future, with his age. Why would Carmelo want to exile himself from New York to rejoin essentially the same team, plus an old man Dirk?
Not to mention that Dirk is basically a 7 foot Melo. They have overlapping skillsets and he wouldnt complement Melo at all. Whereas Harden and Howard would.
It makes me nervous that Dallas is going to get a quality free agent regardless with these moves. I hope they stay Kyle Lowry-less.
