Why would Clear Channel pick a side? They OWN the billboards and rent them out, they don't create the content...
The organization is classy and deserves respect. They players play basketball how it should be played. The fans are ridiculous though. The Spurs are all they have so they are passionate, I get it. If you have hardly met any annoying Spurs fans, then you have not met many Spurs fans.....We beat the Spurs a couple of years ago in SA and I happened to be in the city that night. This one dude's girlfriend had to hold him back from trying to fight me for being a Rockets fan. Was so dumb and not too classy....At the last Rocket's Spurs game this season, they were talking so much ****. Yelling out how Dwight and Harden suck constantly among other things. It was right by the Red Rowdies, if anyone else heard it. We weren't even saying anything back but it was easy not to since we were winning. So I agree that you do not have to talk **** to prove your team loyalty. In Houston, Spurs fans literally pop up out of nowhere during the playoffs once they are sure that they are going somewhere that year. Obviously not all of them are bad but the ones that are unclassy are extremely unclassy. That goes for a lot of city's fans. BTW....you came across a little whiny in your post as well. People are going to hate the Spurs here....just like they hate the Cowboys and Mavs.
Yet, no repeats and 5 titles over 15 years ... is hardly new...considering four teams did it under 10 years...actual NBA dynasty.
Have no idea why some of you are standing up for Spurs fans, they have to be the lowest common denominator of fans in the NBA. Maybe a lot of you are in Houston, so you do not deal with this group of jackasses on a regular basis but I have been in Austin and south Texas my entire life, believe me, they are as unbearable as cowboys fans. To them pretty much every player sucks or is a b**** or a p***y or a cheat or a flopper or a choker or the NBA is against small market teams. It is nothing but crying anytime they lose and screw every all star because the NBA just wants to see them advance.
