Pau Gasol is one of my favorite players of all time, but the Pau that has been on the court the past two years that would probably pass the ball out to Nick Young or Xavier Henry vs. the Dwight I saw a few weeks ago vs. Portland in the playoffs... give me Dwight with 5 seconds left.

Give me the less skilled/knowledgeable player that is still in his prime with a head full of confidence over a the savvy/smart vet that has little confidence, drive, and much less left in the tank physically.

Lol wait..are we talking Pau Gasol in his prime aka Never Got Out of the 1st Rounder in Memphis Either? THAT Pau Gasol?

Look, Gasol's a fantastic player and his preference for a more cerebral teammate can be warranted but it's unfair to say Howard has zero or low BB IQ. He lets his emotions gets the best of him which gets him T'd up but c'mon...

Now how unprofessional is that. Lol they are secretly hoping there best offensive player to opt out. Why not tell Zach his services are no longer wanted in Memphis. Or Zach we will looking to trade you this off season so we could bring Pau back to Memphis.

Gasol won a title with Andrew Bynum, who was far worse than Dwight on either end of the floor and had a lower bball IQ to boot. I doubt bball IQ is a sticking point when you're dealing with someone who brings as much to the table as Dwight. I don't see him making a bunch of "dumb" plays anyway.

I agree. There is no reason to take shots at every poster that doesn't kiss A$% to an insider after every post. This isn't grade school. You aren't playing with the cool kids in the playground.

Nobody was denying that his report was BS. If this is a real report... Great. Thanks for relaying the message. I only saw comments reflecting that they thought Pau's reasoning was BS. Dwight's low BBIQ is a sorry excuse for Gasol to come up with if that's truly what he is telling Cyberx personally (assuming we are taking Cyberx's word for it that he knows exactly how Pau feels).

If I'm Pau's agent/manager I probably actually do have a list of reasons why he'd want to go elsewhere instead of come to Houston, but Dwight's BBIQ would be very very low on the depth chart of reasons.

I dont deny that at all. I said I played Ball my whole life. Never said I was any good. My claim to fame is getting posterized by Rashard Lewis my first game getting brought up to Varsity at my HS. That's about the biggest highlight of my playing days other than watching a friend a grew up with play up to this very day in the big leagues. However that 3 ball is like ridding a bike. It still feels like its going in every time.

BECAUSE Zach has the player option. It's HIS CHOICE. They can't simply tell him his services are no longer needed because Zach could just opt in and prevent them from doing what they want to do.

And what they want to do is get Zach not to opt in so they can sign Pau. Do you see?

The cheap shot was not giving a simple answer to a simple question. Now you want me to explain beyond them??

It must be the off season.

The Property Brothers thing sounds like a nice story, but its hard to make a case that the aren't significantly downgrading in talent at the 4/5 if they let ZBo walk to sign Pau.

My guess is if they really did want to go this route, its probably because they think they can gain some flexibility in going with potentially a lower priced Pau to upgrade at other spots on the roster. ZBo & his people are probably asking for close to a max level deal.

I think ideally in a perfect world, it would make sense for them to keep ZBo but at a smaller long term salary. I don't see any reason why they'd WANT ZBo to opt out only to sign Pau. I only see that as a backup if he does leave.

Memphis isn't trying to piss him off. Good grief.

If they don't extend him he is probably opting out. They don't have to piss him off to get him to opt out, they just don't offer him an extension. That they are offering him a 3 year deal indicates they want to keep him.

Ummmmm, Pau is the better player than Zach for starters.

Secondly, Memphis wants to get Pau so he doesn't go elsewhere......like elsewhere to Minnesota. Because of Pau goes to Minnesota to play with Rubio, then Marc may want to go there next summer.

So it's ok for somebody who tows your line to stack an argument in their favor, but it's not ok to answer a loaded question with another loaded question? And when all of that commences, it's ok to interject yourself in the conversation with a condescending retort and a self-given pat on the back due to having "sources"? It really MUST be the off-season.

The original "loaded" question was: Who has the highest basketball iq, Dwight or Pau?????

That wasn't a loaded question it was a simple, straight-forward question. It got monkeyed with. So if we gonna monkey around we gonna monkey around. The condescending retort was a retort to several condescending retorts to this "loaded" question.

Sometimes we outsmart ourselves. The question and answer were simple. And I've wasted too many keystrokes and time responding to posters who are monkeying around instead of discussing basketball. For that I am sorry.

    LOL

    Howard can't shoot free throws.

Yes, they both have high BB IQs.

If Howard could shoot free throws then I give the ball to him if the play has to go into the post....but he can't shoot free throws because he is a head case at the line.

Yes, Gasol is more skilled and a better passer. From prior posts you almost make it sound like Dwight is a meat headed buffoon which he clearly is not.

I was balling at the Fonde back in the day. Talking mad stuff to P. Hardaway after hitting 2 jumpers on him. The very next play Hardaway crossed one my boys up, came down the middle, took off from damn near the freethrow line. And posterized me with a thunderous one handed dunk. Lol
