Anyone remember? Any ideas on who we are closing in on? Speculations or docrocket/cyberx hints? Is there something else going on since nobody is talking about the draft? :p

There's also this NBA Draft Forum thingy on this BBS.

There is plenty of talk about the draft in THAT forum.

    :p

Would it be preferable to draft a player that we can stash overseas so we don't have his salary this year, or doesn't the 25th pick hurt our cap?

No. We don't want or need cap space. Trading Lin+Asik+TJ/DMo would equal near 18 mil /y starting salary for any max player, and then we would be able to use both the drafted player, and sign FA's to the full MLE and BLE. No reason for a draft and stash.

All first round picks have a designated cap hold. It would be preferable to draft an overseas player that wont count for a few years. More likely the Rockets trade the picks. Probably to move Lin ' s contract.

Well, since Melos contract would star at about 23mil/y and LeBrons at 20mil/year, we would still be short up to 5 mil if the player is not ready to take a paycut. Of course, if we can trade them to NY or Miami that is a moot point, but I'm not so sure they'd take that offer...

Does it matter? Rockets are in win now mode. No rookie is going to contribute to the team anyways, especially a player drafted with the 25th pick.

Even if the Rockets do draft a player, we may not see him much after pictures in the hat.

It's fun when the draft doesn't mean anything for your fan base.

That's kinda rude man. You could have said that in a much nicer way.

Bima was probably messing with him considering they are both highly thought of CF members.

That being said, there's not a lot of friendliness in general on the boards these days.....flaming people is all the rage! How else is everyone supposed to get their e-street cred (green rep bars)?

No... we just got a lot of dumbasses since we signed Jeremy Lin to our team. I fully expect CF to improve tons back to how it was after we finally get rid of him and his fans.

It's almost a foregone conclusion that we'll trade the pick, so we've got that to look forward to.
