I'd like to believe that the playoffs was a wake up call for Harden. He should know what he needs to work on to get to the next level.
It absolutely should have been and I agree. But nah, let's not give him the chance to improve or adjust, let's trade him for Lowry.
Harden did the same thing last year and said the same thing. He hero balled last years PlayOffs into oblivion coupled with horrible defense. Came back and made it worse this year.
He should have asked the front desk to set the wake up call for before the playoffs started, not after. Dude's been sleeping on D for two years. We keep on hoping that he was just saving energy during the regular season and would turn it up once the really critical playoff games are played, but nope.
yes. harden is useless in the playoffs. he doesn't play defense and so far....as "the man" in the playoffs, he has averaged 38% from the field and 4 TOs a game. getting Melo and trading Harden for another star (Love maybe) would be ideal. imagine....Melo/Love/Dwight. my god.

The right coach can get it out of certain players. Ultimately McHale or whoever is on the sidelines needs to make sure there are consequences for a lack of effort on D. Even if it costs the team a couple wins during the regular season. A message needs to be sent. If Harden isn't going to try out there, sit him down.
This same train of thought is in that other thread. This off season James has been called out by more than just the fans and his critics. Team mates making thinly veiled public statements and the like. The video on YouTube. It's way worse this year than last. He has to know the scrutiny he's under. I really think a hard ass assistant coach is needed next year. Someone with the guts and authority to put Harden in his place when needed. Someone that can get through to him (apparently this was Sampson before?). Regardless, it's out there. We'll see how and if Harden responds.

I think everyone would do it if that's the only way to get LeBron. If LeBron is cool with playing with Harden,though, I'd much rather have LeBron/Harden over Melo/LeBron.

90 out of 100 people will tell you that Harden is better than Parker right now. The other 10 are probably LOF's who think that castigating Harden somehow makes people perceive Lin to be better than he actually is.
