This is coming from a team that played cannon fodder for 7 straight seasons, while resting the best players for the playoffs to only be eliminated, quite easily and forgettably without the rest of real world to care. The only reason people cared about watching the Finals was to see LeBron fail or...succeed. Most people would've tuned out against any EC team. Three of your titles came off a questionable suspension of Suns players in 2007; against a Mavs team without Dirk and the weakest Shaq-Kobe team in 2003; and did not have to play the Bulls in 1999, or even the Knicks team at full strength. LeBronner, maybe unlikeable, uncharismatic, disloyal, and lack internal fortitude, but at least his team successfully defended their title. If the Spurs are such a great team, how come the Spurs cannot win consecutive championships in a row, like ... actual all-time great teams do? Hell, this is first time they reached the Finals in consecutive years.
The hate people show for the Spurs and their fans on this board is amazing. Stop being jealous losers. I've hardly met any annoying Spurs fans. And their organization deserves a lot of respect. Some people here seem to be under the impression that you have to talk **** to show how much of a Rockets fan you are. That actually makes me annoyed with our fan base. Because when it comes down to it, so many posters on this site have the mentality of whiny losers.
Isn't this a rockets fan forum? Don't we hate both teams here? When did we start supporting another Texas team? Or even remotely care about LeBron outside of the possibility in which he night come to Houston with Melo? A lot of Spurs and LeBron love going on in here and it makes me sick.
Champions are champions, regardless of the circumstances. All teams must play the same rules, same number of rosters, same salary cap, n same number of coaching staff. Its the skill of management, players, n coaches that distinguished the perennial contenders n bottom dwellers. The only grudges i have with nba are the match of wcf 2002 kings vs lakers n finals 2006 mavs vs heat, where the refs interfered n change the outcome of the game. 5 rings in 18 seasons of trying for duncan are not bad considering how many hall of famers retired ringless. Our great olajuwon played more or less the same amount of seasons as duncan, yet he managed only 2 rings. Not demeaning the toughness of doing it back to back, but boyyy... 5 rings, thats a lot of sweats, bloods, pains, tears, n efforts. I would take 5 rings anytime than back to back.
<br> You don't have to hate everyone in the sport to be a Rockets fan. The Rockets don't even have a rivalry with anyone other than maybe OKC (dating back to Seattle days) and Utah. This isn't the equivalent of being like "hey totally glad the Jazz did well!" Also, not enjoying LeBron play basketball because "he's not on the Rockets" is pretty sad. The guy is annoying as it comes, but probably the most physically gifted and naturally talented NBA player of all time. Most likely wont have the chance to watch someone like that play basketball in their prime for many years after LeBron is gone.
Watching him play is not that great of a gift. His game is rather boring and not that exciting to watch. I didn't like Jordan or Kobe but enjoyed watching them play the game. I have league pass and never watch the heat play unless it's against the rockets.

LOL. As opposed to the relentless support of the Rockets fanbase? Anyway, I call BS. Their fans seem pretty die-hard from what I can tell. Probably has a lot to do with the Spurs being the only pro sports team in the city (i.e., no under-performing mediocre NFL franchise to steal all the attention).
