No, as far as I know you can't do a s&t for a player that is himself s&t.

In order for NY to accept a signed and traded player, the transaction must get them below the tax apron. So that is obstacle 1.

Also, If Houston signs and then trades Chandler he becomes a BYC player and Houston will only be allowed to take back half the salary of Chandler Parsons.

For all intense purposes, there is no way to sign and trade Chandler Parsons to NY.

This smells a lot like Broussard BS. I don't doubt LeBron's agent told him, "LeBron's looking at Miami, Cleveland, Houston, NY, LA. He would like a chance to pair up with Melo." And Broussard took that and decide to pair LeBron with Melo in every possible situation.

There's no way LeBron at this point has already studied each team's rosters and determined how to manipulate them. Is it possible that he'll ask Morey to do this? Sure. But the timing for that should be after they've met face to face.

Just because a trade scenario could be pulled off using the ESPN or RealGM trade engines or on XBox doesn't mean it can happen in the real world. Teams don't want to send superstars elsewhere if they can avoid it, and teams HATE helping a team become ridiculously stacked.

Both NY and Mia will at least hold out and resist any S&T for as long as they can - they both want their player to stay and aren't going to help them go (until it's clear that they're leaving no matter what).

Third party teams will want nothing to do with making Houston a super power.

Anything is possible, but netting LBJ and Carmelo via two complex S&T scenarios is an extreme longshot.

I would do that IF that is what Lebron said that's what it would take to get him onboard.

Come on guys, I can't be the only one dreaming of fielding a USA Basketball lineup in Houston.

What do you mean he's quoting you without credit? You are saying he copied some of your posts in his article?

Not to mention Melos contract is more than Hardens, which means either more luxury tax for Les, or even fewer non-minimum players. If we're paying an extra $5m for Melo over Harden, who knows....we may not want to resign Parsons, and instead replace him with someone using our MLE (assuming we even have it) in order to save some money. Les is known to be willing to spend, but how high will he go?

Another head scratcher...Lebron and Carmelo are going to BOTH take a pay cut down to 15mm just so they can attempt to carry a team of a busted, bossy Kobe his new team of vet min players...with a new coach...out of the West...when they are in their 30s...hahaha...yeah right...

Not sure why people are so against Melo/James instead of Harden and one of those two superstars.

Melo is not a great defender but he is a transcendental scorer, even more prolific than Harden.

    James is possibly the GOAT.

Harden can be a transcendental scorer when he wants to, but takes plays/games off and doesn't even pretend to play defense. He may be the best SG in the league but he's not more valuable than Melo or James.

If we could do Howard/Melo/James I'd do that in a heartbeat.

Not valuable? Harden is about to turn 25 and is not a finished product...also....Harden and Melo are both neck and neck when it comes to scoring, but the difference between those two is that Harden makes plays for others.

Dont see anything complex about it though. Asik & Lin trades seem to be separate trades which will free up enough money to sign Melo or LBJ outright. A S&T with Harden as the centerpiece would be extremely easy to do in my opinion.

I don't want to trade Harden, it doesn't seem like the right thing to do, not now at least. I think a lot of people would lose respect for Morey and the Rockets if they traded Harden now. I think people would understand why it had to happen if Morey got Melo and LeBron, but it shows bad loyalty which a lot of star players want in an organization.

Harden was our grown star, he reached stardom with us. You don't trade your star player that soon. I can understand a trade if a couple years down the line if Harden is the same player (isoball, no defense or expanded offensive game) and the Rocket haven't had playoff success but you can't give up on a player this soon.

More to the point, the Howard/LeBron/Melo combo really doesn't have too much of a shelf life. Like it or not, the reality is that Dwight Howard is declining. He is losing his other worldly athleticism so unless he can transform his game and add real post moves and a jumper, his production is going to decline. If we are lucky, we will have 3 years of Dwight Howard like numbers. Anthony is now 30. His game should age well but when players hit 30 you never know. He probably has 3-4 years of elite production. James is the player that could probably play the longest at his current level. But like Howard, his superhuman athleticism is starting to fade and while he is better suited for that, he has so much basketball on his legs. He has 4-5 years of prime LeBron left.

I worry because after 3-4 years, the Rockets will then be stuck with player that are past or nearing the ends of their primes with no hope for a better future until those three players leave or contract expires.

But with Harden, if everything works as it has been, still has at least 6-8 years of prime Harden left. He is 24 and already the best shooting guard in the league. His game should age well, since it's more footwork than athleticism. Harden's prime should outlast Howard/Melo/Lebron easily. Harden is going to be the hope for a sustained future for the Rockets.
