Look. If Lebron walks........Bosh will walk. That's $40 million of cap space. Miami will take their cap and rebuild. They're not going to trade for mediocrity.

I just broke it down. In your scenario, we are bringing in more than $30M in contracts and would have to send out $25M in contracts to do that. There are plenty of trades for the Rockets to take on extra salary and for Minnesota to cut lots of salary, but the Rockets just can't take on that much of it. Could some go to another team? Sure. Can it all go to the Rockets, like you suggested? No. Could you cut one of Mbah a Moute or Shved from the deal and make something work? You could.

Which of the below are you denying?

    1. You had the Rockets acquiring $30M+ in salaries
    2. You had the Rockets trading $23M (I actually added all your "ors" to get this high) in salaries
    3. Or the Rockets would not be subject to the 100% + $5M rule?

Seems you were just operating with the 150% + $100K rule when it wouldn't apply. If you know something I don't, it would be great to see it, but those are the salaries and that is the rule as far as I know.

What if Bosh and Wade never opt out as LeBron has? I don't expect Wade to at all, unless Miami is stupid enough to sign him to a longer contract worth more than $60 mil, which will hurt them considerably in the future.

Bosh, if he does opt out and LeBron leaves without him, what teams do you think would sign Bosh at the max...leaving out the Rockets?

If Bosh and Wade do not opt out....Lebron is gonzo. It's just that simple.

But Bosh is going to opt out. There is NO WAY that Bosh opts in and subjects himself to being traded without his consent.

Apparently NOBODY thinks Wade is going to opt out. Except me. But Lebron and his camp are very smart. They know they've got to get Wade to opt out for them to build a championship contender. I fully expect Wade to opt out. And if he doesn't....then Lebron and Bosh are either walking OR they are prepared to play for about half their max salaries on one-year deals.

Ok, man. Those are pretty easy questions. I just assume you don't have your numbers or rules right. It happens. No need to get so b****y about it. I hope for your sake that CP stays around.

I just think Lebron is being nice and doing his due diligence. He knows that as a Big 3....WADE IS FINISHED! No matter how big of a paycut they take, they can't add another allstar to form a big 3 again to that roster next year, and it only gets worse each year with Wade, especially once you extend his contract longer.

But you still haven't told me who you think gives Bosh the max again on a 4 year deal if it is not Houston?

The answer is one year contracts.

Huh? Why would Bosh opt out of his current deal to accept only a 1 year deal with another team? That makes no sense to me.

The answer for the big 3 staying in Miami (and building a championship contender) is one year contracts.

Still doesn't make SENSE for anything of them. A career ending injury could always happen. And Wade would NEVER make up the lost money.

    No way that happens IMHO.

You're forgetting the Over-36 rule. Wade can't get another 4 year contract after this year.

Haven't forgot it at all. He can get 3 years after next season which is one season more than what he has now.

-With Wade, I think the obvious goal for Riley to shoot for is to convince Wade to opt out and resign to a "stretched" salary over 4 years on a new contract with a cherry on top for his troubles. 4 years 50 million sounds about where Riley would hope to target, but thats still asking a lot of Wade.

However if you are projecting two years down the road is Wade getting 8 million a year or is his career likely over with? That's what Riley is selling. You can finish your career with other great players around you winning titles, or you can be the best player on a 45 win team for the next two years and likely have to call it quits after that cause of the toll that will take on your body.

-With Bosh, I honestly think Riley tells him if he doesn't opt out and resign for less with a longer contract (maybe 4 years 60 mil) they will likely look to trade him afterwards. You can take a long term contract now with us, you can sign elsewhere with cap space (we won't entertain a S&T unless your agent can broker a awesome S&T), or you can opt in and be subject to trade discussions for the next 6 months. Either way, Miami can benefit. The worst thing that can happen is having him opt back in, and not being able to trade him after for players/assets that refresh the roster.

-With Lebron, you offer him the max and a vision to refresh the roster around him. The biggest mistake Riley has made, and can continue to make is treating the "big 3" as true equals. Lebron is the superstar there, and should be treated like one.

(Of course though... I hope Riley fails at this so the Rockets can have a better shot at getting Lebron/Bosh, but I'm just pointing out what Riley should try and do)

If Rockets or Bulls get Love after losing on Anthony that is really good. Rose wants Kevin Love but you know how Bulls Management is. If we get Anthony I see Love going to the Bulls. Noah and Love on the boards is nice. Dwight and Love on the boards is even better though.
