Guess who is a free agent next year? Guess who will have an open spot at the same position.

    San Antoniooooo with Aldridge

Maybe Pop will retire too and the point is moot. But why when Tony Parker still has the best years of his career and Pop can just make the best PF better? If Pop is there, it's a no brainer for me. And no state tax. Parker is paid in Guacamole and Hot Sauce. Aldridge has the same demeanor as Duncan. Granted Manu is about done, but that's an awful lot of cap space to find someone remotely similar. Stir. San Antonio 2.0.

How did last years Spurs win 62 games with Duncan playing fewer than 30 minutes? Unbelievable.

Someone tell LeBron he doesn't really have a choice or get Harden to start wooing Durant now or we're 4-5 seed positioning until Popovich is done.

    Sigh.

Durant is not a free agent next year.

Westbrick becomes a FA next year, not Durant, he's stuck in OKC for 2 more seasons.

That's why I said wait for Durant. Maybe we can win this year, but bringing in players not named Durant won't help. We have to have the max available. And be better than OKC at the time. It's going to take an MVP to win.

    Popovich just wins.

You don't think Pop is above Hack-a-Dwight?

We're not waiting 2 years to try and win a championship. We're all in now.

Yes, there is no more time for building, panning out, development, or risk. We go all in this summer. We can do it. I don't think Morey got lucky in the last few years. I think he's been preparing us for what will happen in the next few weeks. Red Nation.

Where did this Kevin Durant idea come from? I have seen it posed a couple of times now- was it that Jalen Rose prediction?

KD is not going to be a FA for 2 more years. Dwight Howard isn't getting any younger. We need to try to find the pieces around him while he is still in his prime to try to compete for a championship.

Waiting for Durant means wasting Howard's time.

And we still have a solid team that could win this year. It's worth seeing what Terrence Jones can do rather than bringing in Bosh. Everything I'm reading has Melo to Chicago. Lowry? You think he'll timeshare with Bev? We have plenty of offense now. With Asik behind Howard, 60 wins. To beat the Clippers, we need Asik. And it's not like Lin is trash.

Don't throw everything into "win for the next 4 years" for Bosh.

You realize that Chandler Parsons' contract would move into that time period as well, right? And same for Beverely or anyone we play at PG. So you effectively want the Rockets to not add anyone (not even holding Asik and Lin and using the MLE or BAE) other than LeBron this year and then potentially not add anyone for 2015-16, either? So we completely punt 2015-16 after effectively punting 2014-15 for the hope we can get Durant for 2016-17?

It is actually mind boggling that someone could come up with this, validate it to themselves, post it, and then defend it.

Simmons blabbed it out once because his true calling is writing hypothetical WWE operatics into the NBA.

This thread isn't well written but what the OP was trying to get at was Aldridge (who is a FA next summer) would potentially team up with the spurs when his contract is up. LA stated he has always wanted to play for a Texas team so it's not out of the ordinary and the OP was trying to say that SA would have a need at PF after Duncan retires. Even though I had to decode that its not out of the realm of possibilities that the spurs maintain success after Duncan/Manu. Parker, kawhi, and LA with pop sounds deadly. I'd bet that harden would rather play with durant over Lebron too, just my opinion though.

Durant really ****ed up by not taking players option on his contract, he wants to be a good loyal boy, no chips for him.
