You wouldn't pay Lowry big bucks and he wouldn't sign here to come off of the bench.

I could see a very effective small ball line-up of PBev, Klow, Harden, Parsons and D12 though.

Ok, this just sounds like BS (the first part) . If cyberx is a Rockets insider of some sort, how would he know that Pau doesn't like Dwight / Love doesn't like Harden/Howard? Just seems like speculation on his part.

CyberX has told us that everyone in consideration thinks poorly of Dwight and/or Harden.

Just take it for what it is and move on.

I do not doubt for a moment that this is true.

However,.....we have to consider this in true light, not in a vacuum.

First of all this is a list of potential free agents. It doesn't include Love. Why? Because Love isn't a free agent. There's no way that the Rox would prefer to clear cap and sign Lowry over acquiring Love. No way. That's illogical.

So this info is legit but it only concerns signing free agents. Love is probably ahead of Bosh on Morey's preferred acquisition list right next to Lebron.

Secondly, you have to remember this. If the Rox can't trade for Love or acquire Lebron, Bosh, Melo in free agency....then the next best option is probably Lowry. Why? As a player asset. If the Rox can move out Lin and #25 for nothing, and they can move out Asik for a pick and an expiring or a non-guaranteed deal then they have Lowry, plus the Asik pick, plus the expiring/non-guaranteed contract to flip at the trade deadline for possibly....Love or LaMarcus or someone else. It's all about asset acquisition my friends....not necessarily about keeping Lowry long term.

Any idea on Rockets plans concerning Kostas Papanikolaou? Chances he joins Rockets this summer?

    1. Cyberx is NOT a Rockets insider. He is a Lakers insider if memory serves who gives us info relevant to our team and REAL Rockets fans are grateful of that, not like the dumbasses that continue to b**** about insiders. You don't b**** and whine about free stuff. You either take it or ignore it.

    2. Players talk to agents all the time so why is it a stretch that such juicy comments are not passed around? Gasol is a very smart and selfless player. That is why he supplements Kobe so well. Dwight Howard, as amazing as he is for us, it not a very cerebral player. Hell, he still lacks a definitive post game.

    3. All insider information is ultimately speculation because things can change at ANY GIVEN TIME.

This is the ultimate cop out.

Player X having a low opinion of Player Y is either true or it's not.

A lot of stuff is either true or it's not. Rumor mills thrive on the willingness of people to suck up whatever they throw out there and then write off being wrong as "thing's change."

    Alex Kennedy, Incarcerated Bob, etc.

Only way that happens is if the Rockets can keep their MLE.

    - That comment was more in regards to insider information in general. Things change at the drop of a dime.
    - Opinions can and do quickly change. I remember Yao expressing reservations about Artest when word broke we traded for him.
    - Like I said, you either accept the info from an insider and express gratitude or stfu and ignore it

Lowry & ppat on the rockets make us an elite balanced team with no holes, we beat the blazers 4-2 or 4-1 then probably get past the spurs.

    Lowry
    harden
    Parsons
    Ppat
    Howard

I legitimately wonder if we could acquire 2Pat. I too think he could provide a punch even if his role is off the bench. I'm on my phone so I can't see his stats vs the elite 4s of the west, like Duncan, Gasol, Love, Dirk, Davis... Griffin, etc etc.

That small lineup would be good if other teams also go small but would be problem otherwise. For example, we wouldn't want Harden at SF and Parsons at PF in the playoffs. Harden guarding the likes of Durant, LeBron, or Melo? I don't know. Parsons on Duncan, Aldridge, Love? I don't know. But I do like Lowry.

For those not named Harden, Howard, or Parsons, this is a frustrating time to be a Rocket. Asik, Lin, Garcia, TJones, Casspi, and others see their names on the trading block on a daily basis. Yeah, they’re paid well and they understand the business but it still has to hurt on some level to watch the Melo/Lebron/Bosh/Lowry drama play out. This search for a third star could now affect Beverley as well. If Lowry returns, Beverley goes back to the bench. I understand Lowry is the better player by far; e.g. his WAR of 11.56 ranks third among all nba PGs and 10th best in the entire league*; higher than Howard (9.88) and Harden (9.67). I understand why the Rockets make the move (Lowry is very good) but the move will have some fallout. Just last season Beverley realized his life long dream of becoming an nba starter and if Lowry returns, Beverley will lose his starting job. I know he said he wants to retire a Rocket; I know he will eventually accept his new role (he’s a good guy), but given the fact that this kid has seen so much difficulty and rejection in both his personal and professional life, I can't help but wonder how he will respond to the demotion. Remember, both Lin and Asik had difficulty accepting this very same thing. I just wonder if the Rockets management has even considered the possibility that our best on ball defender decides to look elsewhere after next season? For example, he can certainly do what Mario Chalmers does, so it’s not out of the question that Miami takes him back. If we lose Beverley, who protects Harden, then our defense, already a big problem, automatically gets worse. That would not be a good thing.

One more point of interest: Lowry averaged 90 touches per game in Toronto**. That’s fifth highest in the league. Beverley, on the other hand, ranks dead last among starting PGs in the league in touches per game (59). Will Lowry, the first option in a PG-centric Raptor offense, accept his new role in Houston, an offense that was anything but PG centric last season? Will he defer to Howard and Harden?
