My issues are mostly coverage, false promises, and always seeming to be a step behind.

I know the contest sucks, but if anyone enters through this link, it give me more chances to win, and if you post here that you entered through my link, I'll send you an invite should I have an extra.

First off, thanks eddie for the input. Secondly, it looks like Spring is no longer an option. I guess it has been a while since I've been shopping for a new carrier, as it looks like the new approach for providers is have a cheap monthly rate (i.e. the Spring Framily plan), but then charge exorbitant monthly charges for the phone itself. It looks like if I wanted to do the framily plan, I only have 2 options if I want a new phone: 1.) buy the phone all upfront, so like $600 or $700, or 2.) pay a ridiculous monthly amount, like $25 a month. I am not interested in either of those 2 options, but please let me know if I am missing a third, more practical option.

So we are now looking into AT&T. Same thing; we can get a nice and reasonable monthly rate for the service, but then have two pay a ton for the phone itself. AT&T seems to be much easier if I want to bring an unlocked phone to the picture, so that is the option that is currently winning right now. That being said, what are some good deals out there for an unlocked phone I can use on AT&T. I've read about the Google Nexus 5 here, which seems like a nice compromise for what I am looking for, and is also around the max I'm willing to spend. Is the Google Nexus 5 my best option, given my preferences? Once again, thank you in advance for any and all help.

I have the M* (non HK edition) and I think the sound is awesome, for a phone. I can't imagine needing it to sound any better than this, especially not paying an extra $50+ for it, if everything else is the same.

The phone is awesome, there's no two ways about it. I have had a lot of close contact with a Galaxy S5 at the same time, and of course my son has a iPhone 5, and all three are about as good as a phone is going to get right now.

Technically speaking, the S5 is *slightly* faster, and the screen is functionally a teeny bit bigger, but it's plastic and feels kind of flimsy. The M8, well, you knock a fool out with this thing lol

I'm glad I got the HTC, I was already well familiar with the Sense interface, and I like it a ton more than Samsung's.

The best part is, with this latest generation, the Android phones are now as responsive and fast as the Apple products have been - and by that I am talking about how quickly it responds when you touch it - immediate response and feedback.. in the past generations, Androids always lagged behind the Apple in this department.

    No more.

As for Sprint, I have been on it for years, the price is good, and I have never been treated anything less than extremely professionally and well, and the talk service never drops.. the data is spotty, but I spend most of my work day inside a building's IT server room anyway, and no signal is getting in there easily anyway.. BUT.. the new Spark LTE gets MUCH better reception inside buildings than the regular LTE did on my last phone.. it's a MUCH better and more solid connection for data.

Look up the Oneplus One, and end your search. It's the best phone you'll find for the money. By far.

The problem is, availability. It's nearly impossible to get a hold of right now. I know, because I'm trying to. Give ti a few months, and you should be able to pre-order it. It will work on T-Mobile or AT&T networks. $350 for 64 GB, unlocked. Top of the line specs, comparable to the Galaxy S5 and the HTC One (M8).

I have a 2015 Subaru. No S5 here but my moto X works just fine, and my friends s5 synced .

Only thing that doesn't work for me is the car knowing what track I am playing

i switched recently from an iphone5 to a samsung galaxy s5. seemless transition and much happier with this phone than i ever was the iphone.

caveat - previous android user who wanted to try out the iphone and never really got the draw. It was good at some things, crappy at others and way too small for my taste.

Think I might have dropped my S3 just right on the power button. It freaks out acting like I'm repeatedly pressing the power button every now and then. And it's extremely annoying.

I'm trying to decide on whether getting the M8 or the S5. I'll probably hold off till later in the year, or until I can't take my phone anymore.

I just hope that best buy mobile will have those $0 deals during Black Friday for the M8. I actually hope it hits sooner than that.

i took it to the austin subaru and they were able to figure it out after some fiddling. it was either the virus protection apps were stopping me from connecting, or just the S5 software that asks for the pin number after it already says it was unable to pair.

whenever i connect it plays a random song out of my library, which is weird but typical of the S5 apparently

    Extremely happy.

It's kind of a win-win situation for you though, because you really can't go wrong with either the M8 or the S5.. they are very comparable, with a few significant differences.

S5 - *slightly* bigger screen, slightly faster processor, heart beat monitor, fingerprint ID, very high megapixel camera, removable/replaceable battery.. plastic body, flimsy, poor low-light performance on camera, poor speakers, NON-STANDARD CHARGING/CONNECTION CABLE

M8 - Metal body, standard mini-usb cable, excellent stereo audio speaker performance, exceptional low-light camera performance, slightly less expensive, sealed (non-user-replaceable battery), not waterproof, fewer bells and whistles.

Bottom line is, they are both great. I went with the M8 because I found it on a good sale, and I was already familiar with the HTC Sense software. But if I had found an equal deal for the S5 instead, I think I would have been just as happy.
