Is he going to accept a 10 million a year salary? After trading Reddick, Jordan, Crawford and Green for nothing? Didn't he already create the legacy you are talking about in Miami?
How are they keeping CP3 and Blake? Are they trading away or cutting literally everyone else on the team?
Really? We are unquestionably his best chance at winning the most championships. Teaming up with Howard and Harden would create a better "big 3" than the original one in Miami and be younger.....if he wants to win, signing in Houston is a no-brainer, just like it was for Dwight last year.
I said gives 'this', not 'us'. Under the premise that LeBron is moving onto his 3rd team, I seriously doubt LeBron cares about being in anyone's shadow.
I think everyone acknowledges the likelihood of Lebron staying in Miami. It just seems strange for him to opt out early and by himself if this is a plan by the big three to improve the team. You'd think they would opt out together and closer to the deadline if they just wanted to re-sign in Miami for less. Pay Riley appears to believe that Lebron truly wants to test his options on the free agent market.
One thing that makes no sense is that people discount the Rockets because it would be "too easy" to win. The only reason to leave Miami is because you are looking for an better chance to win. He already stacked the deck once with their big 3. So he is going to leave Miami to go to a team that gives him a better chance, but not "too good" a chance to win? The only logical reason to leave is to give himself the BEST chance to win, where ever he thinks that might be. If your team is the favorite to win it all you don't need to play in the east, and in fact it could be a resume booster to win in the west. And he could have the chance of not only knocking out the Spurs, but making them the 2nd best team in Texas.
The best NBA situation for Lebron currently is joining Dwight and Harden plus a core nucleus that can realistically stay together for 2-3 seasons min. The Rockets biggest selling points will be the ability to have stars in their primes with roster stability. Whomever Lebron wants on his roster will stay. It will be up to Morey to piece together the other parts, using vet mins and exceptions to the CBA. Everytime someone counts out this Rockets management, something big happens. So far, pundits every where are looking at every other option except the Rockets. Lebron has made it clear about his situation in Miami...By opting out, he has effectively forced Wade to follow suit or see him walk to a better situation. Bosh is just gonna wait till Wade acts before he makes a move. Many have praised Lebron's business accumen. He seems to understand BS and reads it quickly. Last week, Riley went on his little tirade about how people need to get a grip and the players need to stay the course. Lebron responds by saying...show me... Arison and Riley will have to desperately convince Wade that spreading out his potential earning is better for the team. However, this is a business as people say...and Wade has zero reason to do any favors for the Heat or Lebron.
THE biggest elephant in the room on LeBron going to the Clippers is $$$ He's already endorsing a lot of products and I don't know how he can recoup the money he's going to lose (through paying taxes) if he plays in LA. Would he sacrifice those dollars because he thinks Paul and Griffin would be a better pair than Wade and Bosh? Tack on the fact that after moving enough players JUST to get LeBron, that team wouldn't be the de facto favorite in the West IMO. Three options: 1. Sacrifice max money and stay in Miami 2. Take max money and go to LA only to surrender a bulk of your paycheck and play with a team that will need to fill out holes left by the players departing. 3. Take max money and go to Houston and not have to sacrifice money to taxes and not have to worry about losing a core of good/great players
How about this. Lebron has played in 5 nba series and lost 3. 3 times in once to Dallas and twice to San Antonio. Coming to Houston and winning the next 3 to 5 championships would be great for his legacy and ownership of basketball over the state of Texas as well as nba history.
It's hilarious watching Espn. They talk about bulls, lakers, clipps as possible destinations for Lebron, yet not a single mention of houston, who's by far the best choice, smh.
They really want to keep him in the East or put him in LA, nothing else would be acceptable to ESPN. They don't want to have a complete joke of an Eastern Conference and have the Spurs, Rockets, and Thunder be the 3 best teams in the NBA. That's a disaster for them.
My gut feeling tells me Lebron actually doesn't like Dwight as a person/teammate and this is why the Rockets are out of the running for him
How bad will he look going to the Clippers. . . . after taking a Stand Against Sterling . . . and the deal is not yet done. In Fact maybe tied up in litigation. Donald is STILL THERE Rocket RIver
