Shaq never had a problem with it.

That's a fair point. From a basketball perspective it seems like a good move to bring parsons and potentially an MLE signing off the bench with the rest of the bench players. It does get tricky when money is involved though but if it means a ring I'd pay him to be our Manu any day. Isn't it great we can even have this discussion? I remember when the rockets were considering freaking Bynum. We've come a long way in a short amount of time.

I think we underrate the Spurs. The Spurs were 1-2 levels above every team in the league this year.

I would guess it all depends. They could be a lot worse as far as talking crap about our entire organization except for Lebron. But they definitely won't have the "He's a super star but isn't being used right, Milk Hair is racist, etc etc" excuse.

Personally those are the two that annoy me the most. The other complaints can actually be debatable.

Maybe LeBron James signing would be enough to convince Sergio Llull to come over and play backup Point for us. Granted there's no clauses in his contract prohibiting him from heading overseas.

    Beverley/Llull
    Harden/Daniels
    Parsons/whoever
    LeBron/Jones
Howard/Okafor (hometown discount, chance for a ring)

I would prefer we start Jones and bring Parsons off the bench to provide a balance. Parsons in a Manu-type role would be deadly.

Time for Hakeem to recruit another one of his students.

Disagree. Parsons relies on the playmaking of others to score, he can't really create for himself that much.

    Well neither does Terrence Jones.

When the Miami trio got together in 2010, coach Spoelstra said that at least one of the big 3 would be on the court at any point of the game, so I'd imagine that would be the same for McHale. I can see Parsons coming in to replace LeBron late in the 1st quarter to get minutes with Harden and then have LeBron play with Parsons and the second unit in the 2nd quarter. Something like that.

To follow up... I still see Parsons playing around 32 minutes per game even off the bench. So he will get minutes with LeBron, Dwight and James.

Why are so many people talking about Lebron opting out as a definite leave from Miami? If you've been following the Miami situation, it's seemed like if the big 3 were to remain intact, they would opt out anyway to take less money. Otherwise they'd have no cap space to improve their roster for next season and then staying in Miami wouldn't have really appealed to them as much.

NOT saying they won't explore their options (when/if they opt out), which they will but you have to give a lot of respect to Pat Riley as a GM, I am pretty sure he will do a very convincing job of showing Lebron and then Bosh & Wade how he can and will improve the roster.

However in the case that isn't true, ******* I hope he chooses Houston (though from a purely objective point of view I don't see why: we didn't even make it out of the first round and still have a lot of work to do before we can call ourselves real contenders)

Between his press conference last week, and the statement today, he sounds like a man who sees the writing on the wall. He can't appeal to LeBron with the roster anymore, and I think Arison's mandate to cut salary really irked LeBron. Riley can no longer look him in the eye and say they are a team that is willing to do whatever it takes to win championships. I think Arison got cocky, and thought that as long as they have LeBron, the rest of the roster won't mean much. He was wrong, and now they might lose LeBron because of it. Riley knows that, and he also knows his hands are tied when they sit down at the table in the next few days.

If the Clippers, it almost certainly has to be a SnT, and the only way Miami does it is if Griffin is included.

If Miami won't play ball, the Clippers have to trade EVERYONE but CP3 and Griffin for zero salary in return to offer LeBron a $20 million contract:

    Salary Cap: $63.2 million
    CP3: $20.07 million
    Griffin: $17.67 million
    10 Cap holds: $5.1 million
Salary left to Sign LeBron: $20.36

Here's what the team would look like:

    CP3 / Vet Min
    Vet Min / Vet Min
    LeBron / Vet Min
    Griffin / Vet Min
    Vet Min / Vet Min

In other words, LAC only works if Miami does a SnT.

Shaq's issue was he kept getting moved because of financial reasons. The Lakers weren't going to extend his max deal.
