Sources: Rockets have Lowry as 4th option after Lebron/Melo/Bosh

I'm not sure how big of a Bosh fan I am but he fits a position of need and was once a big time target. I don't think any sources are needed to confirm Lebron and Melo as targets one and two. PG may be our biggest area of concern on the whole team.

 

What difference does it mean to you if we get anyone or not?
Sure, they could refuse us. DM could retain Asik and Lin until next February, when it will become easier to unload them.

 

I'd be really really happy if they brought Lowry back (he's still my favorite player). They should bring back Chuck too!

If Lebron stays in Miami, Love goes to GSW, Melo signs with Chicago...Carl Herrera Patterson will troll and spam non stop with his Morey hate.

This kinda made my day. I was down about not realistically getting LBJ/Melo, but if we got Lowry, and go after Frye, I would be satisfied with this offseason.

He's not an FA. That's like asking about Rondo. Trade packages have nothing to do why Love wouldn't be on some kind of "list". Smarten up, folks.

If the Rockets do what is necessary to acquire Lebron (rid themselves of Lin (awesome) and Asik (will be missed)), can they then use Bird Rights to match anything Parsons is offered and then use full MLE to sign Lowry?

The rest of the NBA better just pack it in for a looooong time.

 

cyberx, any hopes of getting back dragic? i'm not convinced lowry can stay healthy at all.

maybe if the rockets crash out of the major free agents they can help facilitate in exchange for a dragic or other?

I do not think Lebron will come here. I think he will end up going to a big Market city like New York, Chicago or the LA Clippers.

In regards to Carmelo, I am not a particularly big fan of Carmelo even though he puts up allot of points since I think he is not a team player and more of a "Me First" type of guy.

That brings us to Lowry and Kevin Love.

There was a thread started earlier about the Rockets pursuing Kevin Love after Woj tweeted that the Rockets would make an “aggressive play” for Love.

My first preference would be a combination of Lowry and Millsap. We fill voids at point guard and power forward and upgrade our scoring, defense and rebounding.

My Second preference would be Kevin Love.

Considering that there was allot of talk about making a trade for Love, (which got my hopes up), can you let us know where the discussions to acquire /trade for Love stand. Adrian Wojnarowski has always been spot on, so when he says something, myself and allot of the other posters pay close attention to what he says.

Even if it is not probable, can you let us know what it would take to get Kevin Love and what the odds are.

Yes but Lowry will not sign for the MLE. He will get more than that from a lot of teams.

If they sign Lebron with cap space they would not have the MLE. They could use bird rights on Parsons though, yes.

The only way the Rockets have the MLE is if they do a sign and trade.

I am unabashed Lowry fan. Love him, still do. I'll be rooting hard this offseason for us to sign Lebron over him, but Melo vs Lowry + another quality guy like Millsapp? Assuming we keep Parsons either way, I might take the Lowry+ option.
