Add Pau to that list. I would love to get Lowry and Pau if Millsap is unattainable.

Is Lowry a unrestricted free agent?

So the Rockets prefer Melo over Bosh? Interesting.

I'm not a Lowry fan. But I would agree if the big 3 FA all spurn us, he would be the next best option. But I do feel for Toronto fans if he leaves. That team gave us the lottery pick central to Harden and then Dwight, made the Rockets relevant again. And now 2 years later, we're getting Lowry back? That would really suck for Toronto, which has a very loyal fanbase despite the difficulties of luring players to Toronto.

Asik and Lowry sounds pretty good to me, if it's possible to still upgrade the PF spot with the full MLE. Even if we can't, Asik could still be traded by the February deadline if he doesn't create a stink.

I think Asik will be gone, for a swingman to spell Harden and Parsons if we can't get a PF in return next month.

So, what's the real first option after these 4 long-shot pursuits fail?

I would love to have Kyle back on the team. Grabbing Kyle in free agency would make me feel like it was a successful off season

Bosh is soft like a tissue, and whole team would be soft without Asik, and others. Remember, Bosh makes lots of money, he is old, and we have to give up a few players.

    Love

Seems like we will just let Love be traded to a dysfunctional franchise this year and just try to pick him up after he becomes a free agent...

Except that Houston won't have any cap space with which to sign Love in 2015 if it signs a player (Lowry, Parsons, or whoever) to a lucrative long-term contract.

I'm not doubting cyberx and his credentials but I don't think you would need sources to confirm that LeBron / Melo/ Bosh and Lowry are the best options and in that order.

We just don't have the assets to acquire Love so that is out fo the picture.

or an overpaid Lowry with a suspect injury record.

history is against injury prone small point guards. lowry's another one of those guys who irl is supposed to be closer to 5-9 than his listed height.

Bosh isn't really an option unless you believe Bron is going to Cleveland. IMO it's either Houston or Miami.

Good post. Lin plus the 25th and the 42nd picks should be a good return for them.
Lin will probably re-sign with them. The big Asian presence there will be good for him.
