I don't want a whole pie? You know like in New York, just a slice-on the go type pizza. I don't want to have to go to Sam's Club or Costco or the freaking mall just to get a slice-0-pizza you know?

This has been covered plenty. There are about 4-6 pretty good pizza places in Houston. I have probably 2 I like for thick crust and 2-3 that are okay for thin.

But the real answer is no, there isn't any badass Chicago-good pizza here.

We get closer to good pizza than most cities can get to good Mexican and we even have cheesteak sandwiches that rival Philly, so it all evens out.

Don't know where you are but Brothers Express on Cypresswood does pizza by the slice, it's like $6.55 for two slices w/ two toppings and a drink.

    Great deal for lunch.

There's a place on Holcombe in the medical center near Southwells. I forget what it's called, but I liked it.

Actually, I think this is it. Been a few years since I've been there.

Any of you guys been to Old Chicago? They don't have them here in Houston, but they have them in Colorado. How does it compare to real Chicago pizza?

    Best pizza in the country?

    1. Chicago (contrary to popular belief there is not a single "Chicago style" pizza. Numerous types are popular and the depth of great pizza in Chicago is staggering.

    2. New York
    3. Phoenix

    Worst?

No. Worst is definitely St. Louis. Cheez-whiz on a cracker.

Romano's on W. Gray in River Oaks. Probably one of the best in Houston.

I'll vote this as well. Used to work right across the street from it. Always good when I went.

Its pretty close to it. It's obviously not exactly as the hole in the wall places, but it is one of my favorite brands. I go there often (finished the world beer tour 3 times)

I also live in downtown Chicago

Depending on when you want to eat a slice, those pizza trucks make some pretty decent pizzas. Pi pizza is one of my favorites.

But NY has definitely spoiled me. I eat a slice almost daily and it doesn't get tiring.
