Because every time they play, they are putting their resume out on the floor. It's in their best interest to give %100.
Im expecting a for one of them pretty soon, Asik will probably be the first to go... My dream scenario right now would be a trade with Philly for Pick number ten in the draft for Asik... especially if Embiid doesn't fall to far. Then we can use that pick on Dario Saric and have him stashed for a year or two.
Why would Philly trade the #10 pick in a good draft, where they could possibly get a good player to build around, for a veteran center who will more than likely bolt after the season in free agency?
Is there any player in that draft that you can guarantee will be a lock down defender and rim protector for the next 4-5 years? And Asik would have no reason to leave if he was getting the starting job. And dont forget that their GM knows just how valuable Asik is. Yes its a deep draft but if they get who they want with their first pick and the guy they want at 10 doesn't fall to them why wouldn't they take a sure thing? Asik and Noel would be a good front court to build on.
The NBA is a BUSINESS. The FO is acting professionally by always looking to upgrade our team until they feel comfortable we can win. This is professional behavior and neither Lin or Asik are good enough to be treated better.
Asik is a top 5 - 7 starting center. Even under these circumstances, with everyone knowing we need to shed salary, Omer should pull a top 10 draft pick. (to assign him a value) He will be somebody's starting 5 for the next 7-8 years....and likely put up #'s in the 14-15 and 11-12 range. This guy's going to be the key piece that helps us get what we need. Lin (and his capspace) just needs to be gone.
You know a thing or two about better dont you? Better is one more rep.... then one more after that. Im dropping 32 after work today...
