Couldn't this also mean he's gonna re-sign but opting out to re-tool his contract?

Yep. Wade's option is for 2 more years. 2 more years at his salary and production level will really cripple their ability to bring in quality role players. If he does opt in, I expect that either one or both of Lebron and Bosh will be gone.

Yes. But if Bosh and Wade opt in, that doesn't leave a lot of financial room for roster improvement and he may indeed walk away in that case.

I concur. Bosh opting out won't say much. If Bosh opts in... well, why the hell would he do that? If Wade opts out, then they are probably are all taking pay cuts to reload. If Wade opts in, it's all over for the Heat -- Lebron and Bosh will leave for greener pastures while Wade dribbles out the clock on his career as star emeritus on a rebuilding team.

I rather expect, however, that Bosh and Wade will terminate their contracts and everyone will re-sign with the Heat on more favorable deals (maybe deals that ramp down instead of up?).

IF he leaves Miami, Houston offers a better team around him than any of the other possible destinations. That being said, Lebron seems very concerned about his legacy and image. Going anywhere but Cleveland or back to Miami would hurt that image. So I think the question becomes what's more important to him.

There seems to be one thing everyone is forgetting. Texas is the greatest country in the world. Why wouldn't LeBron want to come here?

He's going to NYC. Phil is gonna complete two trifecta's:

Rings in the 3 biggest markets

    with

The best wing player from 3 successive generations

Why the hell else would he have agreed to join that god-forsaken loser of a franchise?

$60 million is why. Where else is an unemployed 68 year-old guy going to get that much money?

I'm speachless at this ****. Lebron is the best player in the league, has 2 other stars, a good supporting cast with Allen, Beasley, and Birdman, and now he is demanding Miami spend money and improve or he walks? Someone tell this man to grow a sack.
