You are right but do you really know what our TE core will do. BOB is confident that they will be very key to our success in the passing game.

BOB will not ignore his other weapons either. Andre and Nuk will get the bulk of the passes.

    Awesome!

I came here for a little Texans talk, but THANK GOD there was none to be found. Instead, two "bros" fighting over WHO BEST DERAILED A PREVIOUS THREAD!

Much obliged, gentlemen. Pardon me for interrupting... please commence with the name calling and gratuitous use of the word bro.

Well there will always be people trying to derail threads, you just have to look past them and continue to talk on topic as best as possible. The current conversation was about the Texans' offense this upcoming season.

Why the mods haven't banned a select few, we will never know.

I was trying to get some insight in to the Offense mainly.

I think the defense will be fine. . . .

Firing the Special Teams Coach should improve the Special teams by default

GETTING THE THREAD BACK ON TOPIC:

While this is a bit old, a nice PFF article on the rise of Brandon Brooks last year:

    https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/05/23/secret-superstars-2014-texans/

I think one of the few reasons why the o-line will be much more improved this coming year. Coupled with bounceback years for Brown and Myers, plus the improvement at LG with Filo instead of Smith (who was pretty bad).

Also, um, please stop posting here, yall three. You're good eric.81, not calling you out.

    I must say . . .. i am a little hesitant about Arian
Last year .. . he seemed a bit injury prone.
not sure if he breaking down . .. .
even behind an improved line. . . he did not seem to have that burst anymore

I share those concerns but all we can do is hope he stays healthy and that the improved line will lead to him being back to the guy we thought he'd be. There's also a chance that Andre Brown will be a decent backup assuming he can stay healthy which isn't really a safe assumption.

The line was horrendous at best last season, especially the right side.

Hopefully having Fiedorowicz helping out with the blocking will hide that weakness at least a little bit.

It's not just health with Arian, it's heart. He hasn't been running as hard since getting paid... a common theme with rb's. How many times has he "slipped and fell" the past 2 seasons?

Does Brady go down the field a bit?

Lots of sets where the TEs are disguised in what they will do. BOB went for guys with versatility to play multiple roles.

No I don't know... But wake me when we get an athletic basketball playing TE that can make plays like the rest of the NFL world is doing. I think the TE's will be involved but not to the extent of a Gronk and Hernandez who were much better athletes.

IMO Posey is just as good if not better than Nuk. Posey is the one player in the receiving core that can break a tackle and take it to the house. Don't count him out.

Do you remember the NY Jets lineman that fell down on every play? It was some time ago, but it was really funny to watch.

Those slips appeared to be Foster avoiding the hit when no hole was there. Maybe it was all about the back injury instead of the lack of desire.

Maybe because, like is stated in the article, Brooks didn't have any really dominant moments but I did not notice any real improvement or plusses from the guy last season at all. I'm not an O-line expert or anything so that might not mean anything. I hope they are right and Brandon evolves into the guard they hoped for when they drafted him...but I find it hard to really get my hopes up based on what I saw last season.

And I heard on the radio the other day that Arian only did the vegan diet for like 3-4 months and started eating meat again when he had trouble keeping the weight on. I think a bigger deal was made of that than was ever warranted.
