Which would you prefer and why? Not sure why the idea of pairing Dwight with Melo and LeBron, while trading Harden, hasn't been discussed.
"Not sure why the idea of pairing Dwight with Melo and LeBron, while trading Harden, hasn't been discussed" Oh idk.... because it's ridiculously unlikely! SMFH
Melo over Harden is sacrificing 6 years for a few inches. Not worth discussing. This is the last I will be visiting this thread, and I hope many follow suit. Goodbye.
I voted for keeping Harden. I just wanted to see if anyone had an opinion on the other option. Apparently not.
You have been here 15 years and you start a thread like this. SMFH. Go back to Oklahoma idiot. Spoiler
6 years younger at a position that is harder to find elite talent and whose only downside is effort on the defensive end. That is a buy in and motivation issue. Harden is better already and can end up being much, much better if he puts in the time and effort defensively. He can be the #3 or 4 player in the league with that buy in.
the only reason you'd take melo over harden is because that's what lebron wants, that's literally the only reason
really? is there no way to acquire '91 Jordan, '87 Magic, '86 Bird, Wilt and Kareem as our TT as well as Bill Russell coming off the bench?
Very good thread. Its tough, and doesn't seem realistic. But, its possible. If it meant getting Lebron James I would trade Harden for Melo. But that's the only reason I'd do it. Because Lebron is a top 5 all time player. Melo is 30 and slowing down. I'm not sure who would play PF or SF. I doubt neither would play SG. In the west both Melo and James would dislike playing PF and it will be premature wear and tear on them. Also we have Parsons still, and he is a SF, and cannot play PF effectively for prolonged periods of time. I don't think Melo can play SG due to lack of foot speed, same case with Parsons. Melo will worsen as PF as well due to him being undersized for PF especially in the west. If he had an amazing vertical leap to rebound, and contend shots then he could play PF. Same as Lebron James his standing 2 foot vertical leap is not as impressive as his running 1 legged jump. Thus reducing his ability to instantaneously contest shots from bigger opponents. At the same time it would be dumb because our time period of contention will be significantly lower. James 29, Howard 28, Melo 30. Thats similar ages to James, Wade, and Bosh. It's tough. "EXAMPLE" A team with Howard, Melo, James has a 90% to win 1-2 rings in the next 4 years.. But a team with Howard, James, Harden can win 2-4 rings within the next 6 years. I'm sure Lebron will teach Harden at some point how to utilize his potential, and carry they team at some point later in his career. And the team will be lead by Harden during after 3-4 years or so. I could spend hours typing up several variables, but I don't feel like typing it.
