If polled NBA GMs on who they would rather have between Asik ($8.3 million cap, $15 million salary) or Boozer ($16 million cap, $16 million salary), 90%+ of them would say Asik.

Lin is a different matter, but that can be helped by draft picks and DMo.

Morey sucks at recruiting. This is why he had to hire McHale to be his human face.

Melo not going to Chiraq cause he doesn't want his kids to grow up in a crap town... At least that's what I got from that interview.

I just have a hard time believing that Carmelo is willing to risk going to a team where Rose's health is such a HUGE gamble.

Even if he has recovered, is he anywhere near the player he once was? Anybody remember Brandon Roy?

Chicago's future just doesn't look as bright as Houston's.

Injuries are injuries. Nobody knows how a player will respond after 2 years away. That's why Roy got several 2nd chances. It never worked out.

I just watched a podcast with Simmons and Rose talking about Gallinari (another dude who has constantly been injured). They both were highly dismissive of him at this point.

Why does Rose get a pass on this? Just because he was terrific when healthy?

So was Yao. So was Sampson. So was Tmac. So was Walton. So was Penny. So was Grant Hill. ....etc etc.

Same. I hate to say it, but I doubt Rose ever plays another full season.

I love me some DRose and its sucked to see him get the knee injuries. He was really fun to watch. Reminds me so much of the Rockets when Yao or TMac got hurt. But, if your a 30 year old in search for a title do you chose the healthy option or the risky one? Same can be said for LeBron at 29. On paper its smart to go play for coach Thibs, but to me Rose is too big of a question mark.

Just how effective can Rose be with out his athleticism? Going to play for the hard fighting, grind it out Bulls team is the smart move on paper and i couldn't fault Melo for wanting to play there. But, man is it a huge risk to play with a broken down star.

You would think after the Amare injuries this risk would be heavy on his mind. Can you imagine how stupid Melo will look demanding a trade to NY just to team up with an injured star and a stripped down team just to end up in Chicago in the EXACT same situation?!

Same for Lebron with Wade. Injured stars plus no depth equals no ring. Why risk going to Chicago or Miami?

I can't hate on it though.. especially if it's for ratings. It is what it is.

Don't get me wrong... Rose is injury plagued, but an ACL tear isn't in the same category as a degenerative knee per say.

I hope Rose can come back healthy and play at his superstar level.. which is why I believe Chicago might be a viable option... add into account his interview that was posted earlier on how he wants to play with warriors and refers to the notion of going to war. Bulls might be the perfect fit.

Even though I would want him in a Rockets Uni.

1 year I agree with you. 2 years though? That's risky.

It's risky business for sure, but Chicago has leverage to ride the "we have Rose, Noah, Gibson.." sounds good
